Re: Jean-Kévin Augustin-Ordered to pay JKA for breach of contract

andrewjohnsmith wrote: Tue Apr 11, 2023 7:28 am That verdict seems crazy. Are we paying his whole contact? Because a worse case should only be that we pay his contract for the time that he's a free player. The day he signs for another club should be the day we stop paying him. That figure seems astronomical.
well, he won't be on anything near the wages we'd agreed to pay him, so I'm not sure that would be fair on him - maybe fairest would be us paying the difference but I can't imagine that he's on much more than circa 10k a week atm so it wouldn't make much difference to the overall total

And there is the loan fee of £2m or so to add to the total, plus JKA's wages of £90k a week whilst he was actually here on loan. Then no doubt enormous legal fees. So in the end we are talking about the whole fiasco costing as much as Radz bought the entire club for.

Business like this makes Risdale look like some kind of commercial genius.

Imagine renting a hire car for a couple of weeks, and agreeing as part of the hire contract that if you get a pay rise in the next year you would be obligated to buy the hire car at a massively inflated price on top of the hire charges...And then when you drive the car it has all manner of defects, including black smoke belching out of the exhaust - so after a day of driving it you take it back in disgust. Yet you still have to pay for the hire charges, and two years later a bill lands on your doormat invoicing you for the purchase of the car at an inflated price, plus steep admin charges. And then to cap it all - the dodgy car has now been sold to someone else who is running around in it - yet contractually you still have to stump up for it.

We all know what Orta's like - but I thought that Radz is a successful businessman ?

That analogy only holds if the car wouldn't start, spent it's entire time in the garage, and was eventually repurposed as a go kart.

Let's not forget too that it was Paddy's lack of goals at the time which caused the club to panic and enter into probably the worst football transfer deal of all time.

actually it was mainly Bielsa's refusal to give nketiah more game time - we always needed a backup striker

That's true - if Nketiah hadn't got injured on the day that he was about to make his first start then likely he would have stayed on loan. Bielsa should have started him way before that though - I think Paddy had gone about 12 games without scoring.

Not playing Nketiah and Bielsa falling out with Jansson are two mistakes which have cost the club so very dear. Both mistakes were the result of his stubborn and intransigent personality.

That was something I suggested a while ago.

Work out the difference between what he would have earned here and what he has earned elsewhere and offer the difference.

With fag packet maths and the help of Google think I guessed the cost to be around £15mil

It's better than £24.5 :duno:

We should've just kept Kemar Roofe. We would be saved about £50m (including Nketiah loan fee and wages) and worst case scenario, Roofe would've gone for free after promotion.

What a mess! :poo:

Leeds United, a salesman's dream

I was on the phone to Victor the other day and offered him my 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer for £5 million.

He said "Puta madre, that's fookin ridiculous, my final offer will be £1 million"

Oh, and btw Victor, I forgot to tell you it has no wheels, or engine.

"WTF are you bothering me about, I told you I'd buy it, the deal's done" :)

Lovely jubbly :$$:

Roofe was a terrific player. Crazy to have lost him - especially as Bamford was so unreliable in the championship.

It's like the world has been playing a year's worth of cruel jokes on us this last few weeks

JKA scores a crucial goal to get FC Basel into extra time vs Nice

Basel go on to win.

jka Is a European Competition semi finalist.

As is Diego Llorente.

Meanwhile we cant hit a cows arse with a banjo and give away goals for fun

JKA: Nantes 11 games, 0 goals
Basel 20, games, 5 goals

And we must pay 40 million for nothing.

Appealing the £24.5mil wages we agreed to give JKA which he was awarded

£93,000 a week they agreed to pay him!!!!!

Makes you wonder how much the other dross like Llorente and Aaronson were on.

And the CEO in charge is still here

Not really seeing how we win this given Fifa and more importantly CAS deemed us responsible for the transfer so by default surely we are responsible for the contract?

Yeah well if Leeds hadn't signed up to such an asinine contract in the first place there wouldn't have been a problem. Time to pay up what's owed to the bloke. Trying to get out of their obligation strikes me as a case of tilting at windmills

Depends on your definition of 'owed', I suppose. I don't see how anyone can feel justified in claiming £24.5 million for being s**t and doing f**k all. It's beyond ludicrous.
