Re: Daniel Farke pre Bristol City
I'm not sure i believe this Firpo 'injury' myself, and think DF knows how shite he is and how his value if there is any would decrease by each display in the Championship, and now praying some stupid club pay some money for him in January for the kitty.
If they want promotion this year they have got to have someone working on finding a 10, a LB and 2 other squad players for wherever DF says for January, if they're not currently doing this, then they're feckin idiots.
In fact i'd get two 10's.

which players do you see wanting to leave in Janmentalcase wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 2:09 pm Who plays left back without Shackleton and Byram?
Not a huge amount but we'll have options on the pitch. We might have to change a player who is not used to playing such a situation. It would be tricky (should have signed a left back like fans said then)
Hopefully thats a dig or even a full kick in t' gonads for the owners.
As Ive stated elsewhere, he still dosen't know his starting 11 and is trying to keep everyone happy, I see a couple wanting out in January whilst we hopefully get a proper LB in.
Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

What a complete waste of money. We had him on loan first and he was useless then we went and signed him on Perm for £16M. Why is it that the fans could see we should of not signed him on Perm but the club did not

Contract terminated. He’s a free agent. We won’t be getting a fee but won’t be paying him either I guess.

I wonder why the clown isn't raiding our club for bargain buys for his new mugs?
You'd think he'd be rushing in where fools fear to tread for Llorente etc yes ?
Why is his expert eye not gathering up all his experts ? He could make a full team of his own out of them plus some.

Well i suppose it shows us that someone at the club is listening to DF, and that DF has some common sense.
Firpo next, and i'll nearly be able to relax.

"Really my last point now. I was a striker, I started my career at a small club and the striker won the golden boot and we had to sell him. Two more times. I went to Dortmund, I had a striker, he won the golden boot. FIve seasons in a row my strikers won the golden boot. Then I went to England to join Norwich, we signed Pukki and he won the golden boot twice. I went to Gladbach, signed Thuram, he scored double figures and he played in a World Cup final. When it comes to strikers I know my business and when it comes down to winning this league, I know my business.
Let's not talk about this again. Keep going and speculating, that's OK, but let's not talk about it in a press conference."
That's the most subtle 'f**k off' I've ever heard haha. Love it.

Hopefully non, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gnonto or Summerville wanted out, loans could be Cresswell and Gelhardt, I also think we'll be looking for additions especially LB.

We need to be safely in the playoffs and pushing top 2 atleast imo by January.mentalcase wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 5:08 pm Hopefully non, but I wouldn't be surprised if Gnonto or Summerville wanted out, loans could be Cresswell and Gelhardt, I also think we'll be looking for additions especially LB.
Otherwise someone like Gnonto or Summerville may decide they don't want to risk another Championship season.

Struijk will end up playing LB if Shacks and Byram are unavailable.
Not sure how anyone picks a team and puts Rutter on the bench behind Bamford.
The kid is getting better every time I see him. So many facets to his game are now become consistent and oozing quality. If he becomes consistent in front of goal then he is quite frankly the first name on the team sheet.

I cannot see the club selling any player in the Jan window regardless of league position. To even consider this any bids would need to be excessively high. The club has already made a stance on players under contract without clauses trying to force their way out, it would completely undermine their previous stance in the long term to adopt a different approach a few months later and during mid season.

Like Ampadu, Rodon & Struijk, Rutter is an automatic starter imo!DDB220 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 5:33 pm Struijk will end up playing LB if Shacks and Byram are unavailable.

Seems like they have already been working to get those ducks in a row, with DF hopefully pushing it forward (and this just what we know they're doing).Kennyb41 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 06, 2023 2:53 pm I'm not sure i believe this Firpo 'injury' myself, and think DF knows how shite he is and how his value if there is any would decrease by each display in the Championship, and now praying some stupid club pay some money for him in January for the kitty.

From Beren Cross 11 days ago:
"Now, the Whites want a new head of recruitment, along with scouts across the UK and Europe in the next phase of the football department’s restructure."
"Beneath the head of recruitment, United want scouts with an eye on France, Scandinavia, Germany, Holland, Belgium and across the UK. Technical scouts are also being targeted with an eye on data and trends to find players suitable for the Whites."
Imagine if they make the right moves in the January window!

Re: Daniel Farke pre Bristol City
Thay was an outstanding press conference from DF.
I think we're seeing a manager now with his feet under him and being more forthright.
He is right in saying 'we' are really armchair pundits.
It's great for fans to have strong opinions - that's passion. But let's be humble and curious enough to acknowledge we haven't managed a club at the top level.
On that note, the Piroe, Rutter debate was well handled.
Personally I think the 2 positions they are playing are totally symbiotic. They need to learn one another’s styles as much as cementing their own.
Rutter has found his 'comfortable place' in the system - as we've seen in recent games. I think Piroe is now having to adapt to that.
Once these 2 click together, they are going to be formidable.
You then add Summerville, Gnonto, Bamford in the mix and our attack becomes an exciting prospect.
