Huge financial input if we win the play-offs.

Been reading through this thread with interest. Weasel’s synopsis is spot on from my perspective.

Although at times like these I miss Geronimo’s perspective, I mean negative rhetoric - He would have loved this thread and will have been bashing away furiously with the last two results.

Personally winning the playoffs ( massive call) would provide a greater sense of euphoria within the fan base than getting auto promotion. Although I could name a few on here who would point to chance / luck and imminent relegation if we did win the playoffs.

The most interesting transfer link I've seen so far resurfaced lately after being touted around start of November, Arias from Fluminese.

Please Santa, please - I can explain.

A long way to go yet - 24 more games!

Of course we can make automatic you pessimistic shower! :roflmao:
Automatic isn't completely lost and depends upon Ipswich's wheels falling off and Leeds going on an incredible run. This incredible run begins with a win against the tractor boys then their wheels getting bogged down in thick mud.

Leeds did close in on second place, but after gaining just 1 point from the last 2 games Ipswich then went into 1st position and now 10 points clear of Leeds. It looks like Leicester and Ipswich are the only ones battling for auto, so all Leeds have left realistically is a playoff position and I'm confident DF and his squad can handle the occasion.
If you don't know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere.

If we lose on Saturday and Leicester win, realistically the best we can hope for is third but I certainly won't give up hope until its mathematically impossible to finish top 2.
Massive game on Saturday.
Totally agree! I can't wait for the game on Saturday either! I'm expecting a win and we've already beaten these guys at Portman Road, Elland road will be packed out for this clash. We always seen to win the games against the tougher opposition on paper. 8-)

I really would get Ipswich out of our minds now and just concentrate on ourselves and the next 3pts, because it's totally out of our hands (bar this next game) what Ipswich do, we could beat them Saturday and they go on to win all their remaining games for all we know.

So i've resigned myself to finishing as high as we possibly can ourselves, if Ipswich do then falter it's a added bonus.

Yes, we can keep a beady eye on them, but i just feel it's better to accept there's fck all we can do about what they do, and to just keep concentrating on strengthening our play and team performances.

Knuckle down, and let the table take care of itself.

We might still be promoted. If we don't make autos, there's a one-in-four chance we'll get up anyway, unless the wheels come off completely. After a summer disaster we're third and scaring most sides we come up against.

And besides, I'm enjoying playing in a competitive league - the last two seasons in the Premiership were crap. We've dropped a few points. we'll drop some more no doubt. But losing the faith? Bollocks.
you must like watching our team play crap against teams we should be beating. We need to bring in 3 players in Jan who would be in the starting 11. It is all about PLANNING. we need to have sorted out who we need to bring in on the 1st Jan, thats only 14 days away.

Please tell me if we get promoted which players in our current squad that are good enough to perform in the premiership . I think possibly only 2
Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

As things stand now, we would struggle in the Premier League.

Championship opposition only need one or two attempts to score a goal.

Imagine what it would be like in the PL.

No, I just don't feel the need to completely over-react and start pointless threads about losing the faith when we drop a few points.

And for all your hysterical screaming for 3 new players, you've admitted you have no idea who they should be - that's the manager's job - and you haven't identified who we need to sell to make room for these maestros.

I'll worry about our PL starting line-up the evening before our first game - the club will have moved to provide the manager with the best squad they can by that point, they're not stupid.

third in the league and people are talking about replacing Farke  jesus, get a grip. play offs at the end of the season will be considered fine, especially given the mess we were in at the start of the season

1) we won't sack farke, if we stay in the playoffs
2) if we did, it could just as likely backfire - see Birmingham for example

we had the best form in the league before the last two games....some people eh!

it's posts like this that keep me away from this forum more often than not these days!

We need to win the 6-pointer against the Tractor Boys and follow that up with some good results over the busy Xmas/New Year period. Put some pressure on the top two.

Amen to that, would be great to win saturday and keep the run going for a long while, if we can maximise over the festive season it would be terrific and probably open a gap over the chasing pack who we play shortly.

I'm dreading this game, they are playing out of their skin, where as we are down right poor. If we win it will be a massive boost for us and a body blow for them. But I think we may get tanked, but hoping for at least a draw.
