Probably lack of game time. He looked a lot more decisive last seasonAcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 9:01 pm Another missed strike from Gnonto. He may be trying too hard.

How's that not a foul?

Not as much short game from either of the DMFs in this match but tbf Amps has had a couple of really nice long balls, one that set-up what should have been a penalty.

It's crazy how bad the officiating is below the premier league. We're still in a big money business. The standard of officiating should be better. You only need 10 good refs for the premier league every week. Can't be much to expect 30 or 40 decent refs in the country.

Thought we were just about the better team. Should be 1-1 at worst. Awful ref. Truly abysmal

They certainly deserved their goal.
We certainly deserved ours, too, damn it.

I feel like the refs just make the easy calls. Then they're afraid to make the big game changing ones. Don't think it's bias towards a team. I do think it's a bias towards not wanting make big decisions.

My observation, as well. Kamara sorely needed. Ampadu is my call to replace as he’s been looking leggy to me.
Also one of Piroe or Rutter needs subbing. James would be logical as that would move Gnonto to the 10 spot. But Gray would be the wild card option…

Regardless of the ref and the woe to Leeds narrative, we've been not been good enough this half. We've only managed one shot on target, it needs to get sorted in the changing room.

It was fairly even. I think we edged it. Overall they were worth a goal. But a bit lucky the way they got it. And we've had the better chances and the no penalty calls. We should be level, possibly up.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 9:06 pm They certainly deserved their goal.

True but we arent seeing MFs crossing the halfway line with the ball, so all we are hoping for is players winning individual battles either 50/50 balls or dribbling past the opponent.AcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 9:04 pm Not as.!rich from either DMFs in this match but tbf Amps has had a couple of really nice long balls, one that set-up what should have been a penalty.
Neither is giving us enough of an edge.

I don't think we've played too badly, usual we concede with the first chance. Cooper too slow to react as usual. Gnonto looks way off match sharpness stm, as he hasn't played enough. Crowd out/foul Summerville and Rutter and we don't offer much going forward.
I'd look at Joffy for Rutter and James for Gnonto around the 60th min. I'd like to see Archie in midfield at some point.

We do seem to miss Kamara's progressive passing and presence.JoeDenver wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 9:07 pm My observation, as well. Kamara sorely needed. Ampadu is my call to replace as he’s been looking leggy to me.
