You googling this Swannie or just acquired knowledge? What about the Baggies. That was something to do with paying to get in. Coins in a bag. Or baggy work trousers. It’s unclear I think.

No way Mateo should start ahead of Bamford after we have acquired 31 out of 33 points & especially in a upcoming tough Yorkshire derby. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 8:44 am I'd guess
Meslier
Roberts
Byram
Gruev
Rodon
Ampadu
James
Gray
Bamford
Georginio
Summerville
I'd swap Bamford for Mateo
Byram for Firpo
Gnonto for Summerville
Mateo is a great prospect for the future & should be used sparingly as Farke is deploying, coming on against tired legs in the last 15 to 20 minutes.

Owlerton 'as got nuffink to do wif owls, the inter webs 'as dis to say.
The name is believed to come from the abundant growth of alder trees in the area
Nuffink to do wif a bleeding propensity of avian mouse munchers.

Yeah totally agree that they should start Joseph! Looks like a great prospect for us up front. He's quite fast & skillfull, just needs to develop with game timeAcrossThePondAsh wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 12:17 am Think you're probably right about this. Although I'd really like to see Joseph given the start. Not knocking Bamford, as he's been great for us, but Mateo seems to be the real deal. Technically gifted and hungry. Argument for it not being the time since, as you pointed out in your previous post, we seem to always play crappy teams when they're suddenly in form, and Paddy gives us experience, but Joseph gets me excited the same way Archie and Geo do. Lots to come from him I think.

he is not good enough when we get promotedThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 5:40 pm Wouldn't change him, the finishing will come. Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

how many times does he lose the ball, his 1 trick is to roll his opponent. He will not be able to do this in the premiership. How many goals has he scored in this league. Again LUFC paid over the odds for such a player £35 Million

Don't care, he does the unexpected an that will cause problems in the Prem ...He has a lot more than one trick... The trick that sets a player away from nowhere is his best one and undefendable...

No but, yes but, is his smile worth a goal... isn't his celebrations worth three points.

Now that is one technology statgeekything i can see some good in, monitoring mileage etc.weasel wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 12:35 am I think they have been very careful with Gray. Prior to bringing him off against the dogbotherers Farke was studying one of those laptop things that someone was showing him. I think they monitor a lot of the fitness side of things with those and flag up when players are in danger of getting muscle injuries. I may be wrong but I can' remember Farke bringing Gray off before, usually he is switched into midfield.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Bamford given a rest, he has played 2 games in quick succession since being injured. Byram I would expect not to be risked. Wouldn't be surprised to see one of Rutter or Summerville given a rest too.
I feel there's a good case for Joseph to start, along with Cooper and Roberts again, i'd like to see Rutter and Jimmy coming off the bench anorl for this game.

Expect a bit of rough stuff from them tomorrow night to keep their crowd riled up.
Perhaps Summerville to be rotated, despite the calls for Archie in MF I think the steel of Kamara and Gruev willl be indispensible starting the game.
Gnonto will need to keep a cool head too as they will be out to wind our lads up.
I have never enjoyed us playing at their place but we can win this, if we try and not play the occasion

Re: Sheffield Wednesday v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Pre Match Chat
Having looked at the formation Wendies have played recently it looks like they seem to focus on filling the middle of the pitch.
Danny Rohl worked under Ralf Hassenhuttl a lot so likely has that Red Bull old fashioned style dna.
Suggests we need to do two things we don't always do imo
1) move the ball much quicker
2) pull the Wendies side to one side of the pitch and switch it quickly to the other.
The latter was a massive problem for us under Marsch so maybe for Rohl as well?
Also I really worry about Georgie, feels like a game he either has a worldie or they swarm him and he's constantly dispossessed

Think quick switches could be a real weapon and Kamara doesn't do that, safe, short passes.
Gruev maybe?

Re: Sheffield Wednesday v Leeds Utd Match Thread - Pre Match Chat
Good point about the passing ranges and hitting long accurate balls seems to be a bit of a dying art in the modern game.
Last player we had who could really do it well is now languishing on the bench again after his inauspicious start for the Hammers.
Silly boy as he could have been an absolute legend at his home town club
