Re: Super League
Decent enough effort from Cas, most of the players aren’t Super League quality, so it’s no surprise to see our position in the table.

I didn't see the match as we were out with friends playing table tennis, then out for a nightcap at our local.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 9:01 am Decent enough effort from Cas, most of the players aren’t Super League quality, so it’s no surprise to see our position in the table.
Read the posts on here & a match report online & it seemed Cas were the better side in the first-half, with the Rhinos taking control in the second-half.
Has Castleford lost all their decent players over the last few seasons.?

Re: Super League
Their main benefactor passed away, and the family with whom control now lies don’t seem to have the same enthusiasm, hence a lack of investment in pretty much everything, including the on field team.1964white wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:12 am I didn't see the match as we were out with friends playing table tennis, then out for a nightcap at our local.

It’s all a bit of a mess, and with the grading system in Super League it’s not great at the moment.

Very sad for a traditional RL club, a team I saw play Leeds back in the early 60s as a kid.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Fri Mar 29, 2024 11:30 am Their main benefactor passed away, and the family with whom control now lies don’t seem to have the same enthusiasm, hence a lack of investment in pretty much everything, including the on field team.

Absolutely brilliant game between Saints and Wigan, some atmosphere too.

Re: Super League
Happy for you Cas fans
Meanwhile, the Rhinos got smashed by Warrington at Headingley, won't be the last time this season, useless lot.
Tight at the top with five teams on 10 points, that will change after the Catalans v St Helens game.
Re: Super League
The useless Rhinos beaten at home 24-30 after being 12-2 up at half-time against Huddersfield
Tigers whacked at Wigan 36-14
St Helens thrash Hull FC 58-0.

Re: Super League
Obviously I watched the Cas game, and despite the score line, there is definite improvement.

Re: Super League
I ceased betting with pocket money stakes many years ago, but last night, wins for the Saints, Wigan & Huddersfield would have been a banker treble for me.

The Lancastrians have it their own way in Super League of late. Yorkshire teams need to get their act together.
Re: Super League
Hull KR underlined their Super League title credentials by dominating St Helens to move level on points with six teams at the top of the table.
A week after beating reigning champions Wigan, the Robins ran in seven tries against the meanest defence in the competition.
Also victories last weekend for the Rhinos, Warrington, Salford & Wigan with Cas drawing at Leigh.
Swannie's team, Wakey won 10-36 at Sheffield Eagles
Close at the top of the table

Re: Super League
Cas have shown small signs of improvement, might give Saints a bit of a game, but probably will find them a bit too strong at this stage of the season.

Warrington lead Hull KR 18-4.
Re: Super League
Winnable one for Leeds...Cats looking vulnerable after defeats and Leeds have SOME confidence surely after beating the woeful FC and Broncos
Sinfield has to play over Frawley

Re: Super League
This constant merry go round of players swops and loans is making my head spin. I pity the poor old spectator, one week they’re shouting abuse at a player, the next they’re having to shout for him. It’s making a mockery of the sport. If you lose one week it seems like you just boot one player out and get another player in. There’s no chance of squad cohesion. Yet another IMG bastardisation of our once great sport.
