Unfortunately this is Farke' level , it's why when he has got to PL he has failed , he is a championship level manager, same as Warnock was, different styles of course but this is where he is at. If Leeds go up with him , though he deserves the chance if it happens, it will be a massive struggle. He doesn't have the knowledge or skills for the next level .

Re: Daniel Farke
The only problem with this is that when we went top with 10 games to go, we had 82 points....
8 points out of a possible 30 is relegation form...we could have won 4 games, drawn two and lost 4 in those last 10 games and still gone up in 2nd on goal difference.

Clacton White wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2024 5:54 am He is a decent manager , better by far than Marsche or Gracia as I think they would have equally struggled in this division. Bielsa though , with this squad ....I think 100 points plus , this squad is far better than any Bielsa had here , he turned bang average into better players for a while , ok not world beaters , but they performed far better than they ever had and consistently. Farke and Bielsa....there is no comparison really .
Actually, I think they share several uncannily similar weaknesses. At times the downside of Farke's era feels a bit to me like a replay of Bielsa's era when things weren't going well for Bielsa.
1) They both stick rigidly to a certain style of play - even if that style of play is different when comparing the two managers.
2) They both tend to have favoured players, and tend to field these players irrespective of form, in the hope that they will turn it around.
3) They both seem to think that they can field more or less the same 11 players for an entire season, flog them to death and that results will stay consistent towards the end of a season.
4) In relation to point 3, they are both reluctant to give the younger players much game time, and tend to be obsessed with ' experience, ' even if the players with ' experience ' are bang out of form.
5) They are both reluctant to make changes during a match, at a time when it can influence the game.
6) They are both incredibly stubborn, and quite dogmatic in their approach.
7) Both seem to be too proud to admit it when they have got something wrong, and that another approach should be taken, even if it requires eating a chunk of humble pie.

I can envision the consternation this will invoke amongst some on here. I don't mind that at all though, nice one!

Always said he was a poor man's Bielsa, but "German Southgate" seems far more apt.

Re: Daniel Farke
Last time we collapsed this badly basically overnight was Javi Gracia.
Keeps mentioning international break but we won 1 drew 1 straight after that.
Then since Coventry total collapse.
What append?
Also this is absolute nonsense, risky approach? It was mind numbingly dull and surely you "have to win" every match? So why do you need a so called special approach?
If that was man to man it was absolutely appallingly coached.
Wild style? It was dull beyond belief to the points the fans chanted "shoot" to take the piss. And followed the exact same pattern as the 1st Southampton game, sounds every inch the manager who knows he's under pressure and the bosses were watching
"Erm it's not normally this bad"" may as well have said that.

Yet all our tactical genii on here seem to think we only play one way, cry out to play a different way, plan b etc. Trying a different way to try to combat an opposition is usually foolhardy especially when you hav a team that is well drilled in a certain way of playing.

Read the Southampton forum.
One manager was able to adapt one wasn't.
Farke by his own admission "opened the centre of the pitch against one of the best attacking sides".
Genius.

Chatting to a mate who was at the game, he reckons we played no different to our usual style, contrary to Farke"s comments.

Wasn't any different.
A carbon copy of the 1st Southampton performance where they walked through us at will.
Owners were at this game though so got to make it sound like you were trying really hard and tried something different and usually it isn't this crap.

As you say, apparently my source said the Saints walked through us down the middle & passed the ball out wide causing us all sorts of problems.

Shows how fans sometimes don't actual notice changes in tactics yet bleat on about changing tactics.

He's got both these legs spot on tactically.
He's also managed to stop the rot and help raise the levels again
Can't ask for anymore last 2 games.
Fair play.

*Disclaimer*
Not my post, taken from elsewhere, the person whose it is does have connections through work to some of the ownership, make of it what you will, not claiming its true not saying it isn't, so don't shout at me
Believe it or don’t. Each poster can make of it what they want.
for what it’s worth. I’ll try and make it as unbiased as possible.
Farke felt like the club over promised and under delivered with the squad it will deliver. Now a lot of this is already in the public space courtesy of the amazing job @DJ Dan and the squareball.
From what I was told, Summerville and Gnonto were the 2 players Farke was told would be sold and we would replace. Leaving Gray and Rutter.
obviously Summerville didn’t happen until the end of pre season meaning Gray got sold. There was a small moment in which it looked like he would stay so Farke was sanctioning the sale of Gnonto to Everton. Then the Summerville sale happened quickly due to the clause and Gnonto was retained and ultimately signed a new deal.
around this period tensions started to boil over. Farke as mentioned was eyeing off Emi f**king Buendia… (like seriously!?!?)
There was other targets like Aarons and He was big on Godfrey if Rodon wasn’t re-signed or if we could shift Wober early. Obviously none of his old boys signed. The club thought that the recruitment team was putting good realistic options infront of Farke and he was constantly wasting time as he had the final call and telling them to go after players we had no chance in signing.
Kamara got sold and he wanted Hamer. Big big fan of him apparently. Thinks he will run the division like Buendia. Again, another target that just isn’t realistic.
Rutter was sold and Farke started to leak publicly his frustrations - which wasn’t lost on the 49ers. Who believe they have backed him with everything he wanted within rules (PSR).
Made them push hard for Hamer again in the final 2 weeks and this really strained relationships within the club. Now, very late in the window - there was a chance for signing Hamer, but stupid money at this level. Farke was all in. 49ers said no - there belief was that he had enough to achieve promotion. Board told him that we will revisit it in Jan if we are on track and the blades aren’t - which might make a realistic sale more likely.
Farke went public post Hull again and this time he upset a few of the 49ers & recruitment team.
The board are doing a good job of holding everything together. Really professional outfit. But behind the scenes some have had it after this pre season. It’s promotion or bust and even then he might be removed even if he gets us up.
post Burnley there was some people in the 49ers group who were voicing for change and as it stands today he is on a short leash.
If/When the next manager comes in. He won’t be given final powers around transfers etc. there have been some learnings for the 49ers.
For example the board wanted to look at moving on Wober Bamford and even potentially Firpo. Wanted to bring the wage bill down and didn’t see the first 2 as indispensable. Farke didn’t allow either to happen. Made it clear Firpo needed to stay.
Ultimately Farke has started to really piss some big hitters within the ownership group off and my belief today is that it’s a matter of when not if. Like I could genuinely see us promoted in May and Farke let go in June.

Not inside information at all just speculation based on the summer’s transfer activity which any of us could have cobbled together if we were so inclined.

When do you replace DF
Leeds need a great summer 2026 with outgoings and incoming players
