German media reporting we are interested in Fortuna Dusseldorf midfielder Ao Tanaka.

We were linked with him last season

Christos Tzolis was a Daniel Farke signing at Norwich, he flopped and Norwich loaned him out to Fortuna Dusseldorf last season

He had a,great season, 24 goals 10 assists from the left wing.

Norwich apparently want £5mil which Dusseldorf can't afford.

Wonder if Farke may want to go in for him?

Was very highly rated at one point and still only 22.

Sorry i owe Rodon an apology as well.

And seeing as i can't get an answer anywhere regarding the poty, here's my 2 penneth i've been waiting to announce.

I was really finding it hard to separate Gray and Rodon for outstanding commitment to LUFC this term, i'm still struggling to call it.

For someone to come here on loan and give his all game in and game out, Rodon has been an absolute warrior for me, i have no doubt he has played thru the pain barrier for us, and has pulled the shirt on and performed completely like he is Leeds, we never once got 90% from him, he has been a model pro.

Archie has been the same, and for him to break through in the Championship playing different positions when asked, has been quite something. 100% from both.

I was hoping something might happen in the final game to win it for one of them from me, it didn't, so i can't separate them.

They will both go down in my head as the poty for this season for a lot of the same reasons, with differing reasons being :

Rodon isn't ours - But he played 100% like he was, and it showed.
Gray - Absolutely brilliant at his age to just fit in where asked, and like it wasn't his first game, the lad did well.

Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe says there are going to have to be "trade-offs" this summer in the transfer window.

The Whites narrowly missed out on promotion back to the Premier League after a 1-0 defeat by Southampton in the Championship play-off final on Sunday.

But attention at the top of the club will now turn to the transfer window as they look to push again next season.

"I can't talk on specific players right now," Marathe told BBC Radio Leeds when asked about the future of Archie Gray.

"But if I can paint the big picture for you,
there are certain things that we need to do and we will make sure we are fully compliant with profit and sustainability, as we always have been, and there are certain trade-offs that we have to make.

"We'll have to think about if the chemistry of the squad is right - which players fit us, what we're trying to be and what we want to look like - versus which players don't fit.

"We have to sit down as a leadership team with Daniel [Farke] to figure out which ones and how we manage all that. So that will be taken into account as well as some of the profit and sustainability complications we have.

"I'm really excited with what we could do. I'm excited about the fact we have a full off-season - an extra five weeks to start planning our player squad strategy."

-----------------------------------

Just as i prefer it, straight from the horses gob.

Good old common sense, nowt knee-jerk.

A good grip on the reins, and don't know abart you, but i can visualise them all actually sitting down together in a professional manner.
And not just 1 guy and his big feckin red nose buying this shite and that.

An exciting proper full 'pre-season' - Only after that will i truly be able to judge DF, and the others come to that.

But can't see us trying with Bamford, Piroe and Joseph on the books. My best hope is that next season is Joseph's break through.
I like Bamford BUT he has been picking up too many injuries in the last 12 months or so we therefore we need to move him on. Piroe scored 20+ for Swansea and so we need to ensure we play to his strengths. I not sure Joseph is our 20+ goal scorer next season but we need to keep him and play him more even if this is from the bench BUT not in the last 10 mins of a game
Leeds need a great summer 2026 with outgoings and incoming players

Paraag speaks so well doesn't he?

For anyone feeling pessimistic about next season, I recommend they listen to his interview as linked on Kenny's post

Please no.I know him very well as he is from Greece. Supposed to be the next big thing but very average since then.

Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2024 10:37 am So we now know that only Jack Harrison plus one other player have loan clauses that can be activated for the coming season. Marc Roca has previously stated in interviews that he has such a clause if his club (Leeds) failed to return to the PL.

This now means we can either choose to sell, keep or agree further loans on our terms, hence our Chairman stating we have far more control this summer.

Good news and not as bad as everyone was lead to believe.
Where did you hear that? I'd only heard Roca say it. Then assumed it was probably true for all. If it's only Harrison and none of the others , that's great news.

Gov health warning :

'Your choice of stathead should be taken with great care, there are plenty of them out there, with each claiming to be 'no.1 stathead'

This stathead below on a clickbait site, is claiming to know the precise stats of where we're at : All together now ' whoa, whoa we're halfway there, whoa whoa, livin on a prayer.....

"Though Paraag Marathe has confirmed funds will be available to spend, Leeds will not be able to go crazy due to the tighter PSR regulations in the EFL.

Before they are able to spend, Leeds also need to ensure they have fully paid off the £73 million owed in unpaid transfer instalments, and that will need to come through player sales.

Leeds are already halfway there thanks to both Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra’s moves to Bournemouth within the current financial year, but there is still work to do.

Absolutely huge in terms of identifying which players you want to bring in. I dare say plenty of players that Farke would have liked to bring in, and would have been interested in coming here, had already gone to new clubs before he got the job.

15 days after Farke was appointed we signed Ampadu.

More time to recruit and more time to clear out. While many players, especially the loanees, are a mystery to us, you know Farke and the DOF will have been talking to their agents for weeks. We won't have the sudden surprises over who wants to leave. Farke knows already.

Then there's the tactical preparation and team chemistry. We were a team of odd pieces cobbled together last August. It took months to get Gruev in sync, to figure out where Rutter would play, to get Gnonto back on his game. Plenty of time to prepare this time around.

To me Weasel, this is his first proper full term coming up. He's looked at them all now, he knows the full situation with the loaned out, he'll know like Bert did with Roofe, PJ, Clarke etc where he might get decent money, and they won't be too hard to replace. He'll know about the Shackletons, Poveda's, CC's and whom to cast off. He'll know all about the wages of PB, the Firpo's etc and whether they're worth paying, he'll know how many players he needs, he'll know the owners, he'll know LUFC and who's around him.

It's a shame he didn't get promoted coz he deserved it, we don't know the in's and out's of us fellen off a cliff after the intl break, we never will now, but it definitely broke our stride at that time.

To bring a new guy in to try and get a grip of the above, is plain stupidity to me, and it comes with the threat of things could get worse not better.

I for one want to see him and the owners next moves, last season wasn't his own to me, this season will be.

Then we couldn't do any more business until the 49s takeover was confirmed.

We had played three games, before Rodon was signed.

Pretty sure it was the same game when Shackleton played RW, Poveda at 10, Joffy at 9. (Yes. Aug 12 v Birmingham)

3 goalies and one open spot on the bench. Sinisterra and Gnonto on strike. Perkins in purgatory. May have been the time Drameh and Hjelde were playing left back.

And that was a few games into the season. What a mess he had to sort out.

We drew our first three home games in August,

Meanwhile, Leicester & Ipswich both flew out of the traps getting off to a flyer, and we were left stone-cold in the slow lane.

We were never going to compete with the best when our team included Poveda, Shackleton, Gelhardt & a fading Ayling.

I get Rasmus vibes about him. Can tear it up in a sh*t league but would be useless at a higher level. Great for the stat obsessed but more to footballt han stats.

It had nothing to do with the international break. It was because Farke lost a lot of matches with Norwich in the prem a few years ago. Do keep up.........
