New Sponsorship - Red Bull

Post by Hewin »

The murmurings have started...

What do you all reckon?

Apparently the biggest the EFL has ever seen.

Strong rumours it's Red Bull but their name is always kicked about these days. Levis the other name being banded around.

Purely on the basis of the 49ers Stadium naming, I would assume :duno:

Confirmed by Phil, Red Bull to buy a minority stake in the club.

On another forum I use, Gessa mentioned this yesterday.

Happy for the cash flow, just hope there is no red on the shirt and watch for that minority stake to grow.

Hope in a few years time we’re not all protesting about becoming Red Bull Leeds

I suspect the shirt sponsor lettering will be in blue 😁

I know people will see the 💰💰 but it doesn't sit right with me.

It's a foot in the door for them and we've seen what they do to football clubs once they get their claws into them!

The deal brings in new commercial revenues as well as additional capital investment for a minority ownership stake that will further enable the club to compete on and off the pitch as the club seek promotion next season. The name and logo of Leeds United Football Club will remain unchanged.

I wouldn't bet on the 49ers being the majority stake holders for too long into the future, feels like they are going to flip the club, attract more investors to get the club promoted, extend the ground then sell their share when assets are at a peak.

They can't mess with the brand, look what happened when they tried to change the logo to that s**t salute, fans revolt.

On the face of it it’s good news but it doesn’t really change our current predicament - we have all these investors but without premier league money we are still at risk of sinking due to rules that seem to deliberately hamstring any club with ambition
