It was classic second half Southgate when holding the lead.
“Ooooh Serbia are coming at us. Run away. Run away”.

Foden just looks so unsure of himself when playing for England. In the 2nd half he was a defensive mid, playing on the edge of his own box. That's not his game at all. I put it down to manager not letting him play. If we could get the Foden that plays for City, we'd be a much better side. But the same goes for all our midfielders and attackers.
Yeah I said the exact same thing last night, and that goalkeepers prefer to punch the ball away when they could catch it.
Foden will be wasted by England because he is playing on the left and receives the ball far deeper than he does for City.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 1:54 pm Foden just looks so unsure of himself when playing for England. No complaints about Kane yesterday. Almost scored. Was in the right place a couple of times (Walker's cross and Bellingham's goal) but the ball didn't come to him.
The worst handball decision I’ve ever seen for Belgium’s second disallowed goal & then 2 pundits come on and justify itBarlow Boy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 4:49 pm An upset on the cards, as Slovakia lead Belgium 1-0 at half time.
As I’ve mentioned previously Cussie, I lost all faith in VAR a long, long, long time ago.
Made me laugh that.
Good rant.weasel wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2024 4:25 pm Foden will be wasted by England because he is playing on the left and receives the ball far deeper than he does for City.
It is ludicrous to suggest that we can't play Foden and Bellingham together when you just have to see how Man City make it work with Foden and DeBruyne playing in the same team.
For me I'd give him a central role alongisde Bellingham. Play a 4-1-4-1 formation. Keeper and back 4, whoever they are doesn't really matter. Rice as the DM (or if he is absent then Wharton). Gordon wide left, Sakha wide right and Bellingham and Foden in the middle with Kane up top. Every team would be sh*tting themselves at that front 5 going against them. I just don't see why we seem to have to play 2 more defensive midfielders. For eons football had 442 consisting of 4 defenders, 2 wingers, 1 DM, 1 box to box midfielder (or playmaker) and 2 strikers. 1 decent DM is all a team needs even if the fullbacks play like wingers. You still have the capability for the DM to drop into central defence and one of the centrebacks to push wide to meet the danger if the opposition has targetted the space available because the full back has got caught out too far forward.
Instead we have Negative Nellie wasting our talent. Playing TAA in midfield cos he can supposedly knock a good long ball straight to one of our players - well guess what that's not the most effective tactic against a park the bus defence. Guessing there may be a reason why Klopp played TAA in defense rather than midfield for all those years where Liverpoolpredominantly came up against teams that were defending en masse.
As a manager you should do what the oppostion would least like and for me no team wants to have a team going at them with pace, skill and overloads. Just imagine Gordon rampaging down the left, Shaw overlapping him, Foden a couple of yards inside him, Kane waiting in the middle. On the other side Sakha rampaging, Walker overlapping, Bellingham just inside him, Kane waiting in the middle. You have 7 players attacking you with pace and skill, 5 of them capable of scoring from anywhere.
F*ck Southgate and unleash the venom!
