I just hope LUTV don’t make their usual faux pas and announce the score as you log into the replay - “RB Leipzig 2 - Leeds United 3, Full Match Replay!”

I found this site but no mention of Leeds, maybe we slot into one of the gaps, or are scheduled to play lesser opposition.

Seemed to be a lot of bodies. Did they take all the U21's?

Aaronson looked sharp in front of goal

Good to see Willy having a lot of fun

If I'm not mistaken think it was originally reported that six youngsters are on the trip: Chambers, Christy, Debayo, Crew, Thomas, and Gray.

I think I saw that same list. Just seemed like there were a lot of bodies. The 21's probably have their own fixtures closer to home.

I watched the highlights.

From what I saw.

The press seemed very good in the 1st half.

Was some nice passing interchanges and slick moves which was nice (and a nice change from the slow plod then pass it to Summerville of last season).

Nice tricks from Georgie.

It seemed a better team in terms of cohesion out of and in possession.

Encouraging stuff.

But will wait for a better opponent and fans to watch a full game.

Hannover are clearly poor and had the feel of a training game.

But some decent things

As are the majority of teams we've faced in previous pre-season matches.

It's clearly evident we are in much better shape than last year or any other seasons.

You are finally coming round to Farke's Leeds, Cjay.

Wouldn't go that far

Some encouraging stuff from what I've seen.

But against teams we should beat easily and last night was basically a training ground game.

Don't really get the point of these behind closed door games as even the players say its totally different.

Will wait for Valencia, that will be the best indicator.

But am atleast pleased to see we play with a bit more intensity, aren't as mind numbingly passive and slow on the ball.

Encouraging but hard to get overly excited given the setting and opposition

I think that last season was Farke adapting to what he had and setting up the team to play a way that he thought best used what he had. As such I wouldn't be surprised to see us playing a different style, tempo etc this year. I certainly don't agree with Cjay's assessment of Farke being set in his way, no tactical flexibility etc.

Peope often said after Bielsa's inflexibility as if changing the way we played would suddenly produce better results whereas the reality would have likely been the opposite. I feel it wa similar with Farke's side last season and that if we tried to play a different way we would likely have done worse. For me Farke set the team up how he felt was best given his knowledge of the players he had and this division. He has now had a season with the players and with the tactics and a full pre-season to work with what appears to be a reasonably settled team.

The signing of Rothwell certainly would suggest a different way of playing as might Gruev scoring.

Based on his time here I think my assessment was pretty fair

The things he was doing here he'd done before, slow build up, overly cautious approach, poor set pieces and game management and so on, so what I said wasn't without evidence.

However From the little I've seen the team seems a more cohesive unit, press is better, passing is faster and seems more coordination in it.

Maybe and hopefully he learned lessons (would never criticise a manager who shows he has). Maybe a year has helped people like Piroe and Joseph.

And maybe now we get to see a more entertaining and exciting team which is important.

Some of the passing moves vs Hannover were more exciting than anything we did all season last season so that was nice.

Good to see and if this continues credit to him.

But very early days, very weak opposition and very strange circumstances.

Green shoots but nothing more yet.

Correct

Also, his options off the bench will be far greater.

On the evidence we have witnessed from our opening friendlies, his first XI should be an interesting selection pending on the formation Farke goes with, a difficult one I suspect.

I think he has a lot to prove, people will put up with dull football if its successful, his was neither successful nor entertaining last season.

His in game management was awful and by the end he seemed tactically beaten as manager after manager got the better of him.

From the little I've seen the team seems a more cohesive unit, press is better, passing is faster and seems more coordination in it.

For me he went back, to some degree, to what he knew worked with Norwich in this division. This for me was the correct call given the lack of time to get a cohesive unit together with players coming and going after the season had started.

I didn't see the football as dull. Yes a lot of the time we over passed it around at the back but I could see the logic to it. We were moving it around waiting to see if a gap appeared. Sometimes we played it back from good attacking positions and that was frustrating but maybe that was down to us having no midfielders who wanted to shoot. Yes dull compared to Bielsa but we were still looking to control the match, Spanish style.

I am excited to see what the new season brings.

Can agree to disagree on that.

I found many of the elements of his style a contradiction and a hindering factor to the players not a help.

Slow build up, risk averse passes, lack of midfield runners and press all just a bit meh.

We moved the ball around but too slow to create gaps, the spaces we created were often ignored for a safer pass and so on.

It has seemed a bit different so far this pre season which needed to happen.

And maybe not having the pass it to Summerville reliance has helped somewhat (he's still here of course but noticeable he's seeing limited minutes).
I did say I felt a pre season would help Piroe an that seems to be the case so far.

Joseph as well, and maybe even ballerina Brenden is what Farke needed.

It seems he is showing more flexibility in tactics, atleast trying different things which is good.

I'm hopeful with what I've seen and maybe we will see a return to that first Norwich promotion team style when they were braver.

Need to see how we play in front of a big crowd vs a team we aren't expected to beat easily first.
