It has been about 9 or 10 recently which is a more manageable number of albums to listen to than 20. It's really not that much different to ordering 6 out of 11 in the man of the match which people seem to do.

Although I think I did opt to follow the two nominations route, we could just go with the one and have a top 3, as opposed to 5……which I think was the other option faaip suggested 🤔

'O' is one of the best singer/songwriter albums of all time, imo. A real grower, I played it constantly when I bought it back in 2002, so good it spent 115 weeks in the album chart, a brilliant mellow debut featuring the delightful backing vocals of Lisa Hannigan on some of the songs.

I intended to nominate O myself, always a winner in our eyes, ears & mind, once you posted it up, Cussie.

Loved it from day one, still love it now. too mellow for some, but who cares, we love his first two albums.

That's because we have similar tastes, my influence on Jill's music tastes is quite significant over the 30 years we've been together.

There is no way, she'd vote for the Tom Waits album though or some of the other acquired stuff I enjoy :(

Looking at the current scoreboard, Marie, only one album has drawn away from the rest in what has turned out to be a relatively close contest.

Mrs 64, Riot & myself gave maximum scores to an album we didn't nominate.

I'm not in favour of keep changing the format of the poll,

At one stage, we always had 15+ albums nominated, sometimes more in Round One of the Album Of The Year polls.

No point in just voting for your own nominated album if someone else’s choice is better, was surprised Damien Rice hadn’t been nominated before but it probably wouldn’t appeal to everyone so was happy to sneak in there.
