After taking myself to bed in a real strop because of the result last night, this was not the news I expected to wake up and see. Can only hope the 49ers last ditch attempts to rescue the situation by offering a new deal are successful. Throw all the Summerville money at him and get a few loans in to bolster the squad.

I would love to see them be able to do this, but we won't get the same quality in that we've lost imo. You take Geo out of all our matches last year and we would have had far fewer points. Someone else could have stepped into Dan's shoes or Paddy's, but not Geo's. Again, just my opinion.
Just the fact that Brighton went in for 40 million for Geo tells you all you need to know. They are know for spotting talent/potential and selling on for a profit. You can all but guarantee the same will happen with Geo.
Sure there are plenty of creative players out there for a fraction of what we spent. Brighton have made plenty of poor signings too, it just never gets mentioned.

Jack Clarke is available for around £15m. Would be a good signing if we can get him.

It's 18 as three are GK's and no one needs three goalkeepers unless you have 25 plus players on a squad. Cairns ain't seeing the pitch bar injuries. So 17 as Byram/Bamford are half players, 16 as one is Rothwell though he may go from being low quality to one of the better players at the club in short time. Rothwell is the type/quality of player we were getting in when Rads/Orta first arrived.

Nonsense, they wanted him to stay. Rutter and his agent leaked the clause to Brighton.
One thing everyone is ignoring is how predictable and one dimensional Farke made us last season. Every manager cottoned onto the pass to Jimmy and Geo tactic. There's no way we'd have been as successful this season with the same idea. Now it gives him a chance to develop some new tactics and not make us so easy to play against.

So where is our creative source in midfield, it's pretty poor as it is, Rutter leaves it's non-existent.
If this selling strategy continues without at least three marquee signings to replace our star players from last season, we'll struggle to make the play-offs.

Because of Farke's one dimensional tactics and over reliance on two players. Every team had cottoned onto us. We wouldn't have got 90 points with the same tactics this season. We need to use the money wisely to give us more options.

tbf it's not like we've accepted a bid, he had this clause in his contract (presumably if we got relegated) and so there's not a lot the current owners can do about it really
