James and Firpo as wing-backs, would be alongside Piroe and Gnonto when we’re attacking.

If Aaronson gets the nod over Piroe then he switches position with Gnonto.

Aaronson over Rothwell for me if we went with that or maybe Crew, and Bogle for James. I don't see it as a Farke formation though

He still has more than enough talent in our starting 11 and bench to be player for player better than teams like WBA and Wendies and Portsmouth.

It's his job to make the most of what he has and he's still fortunate to be able to call on players like Piroe and James and Gnonto and Rodon and Struijk etc as a 2nd season Championship team.

He knew the consequences of failure last season, we all knew we'd be weaker 2nd season, it's his job to get more out of what he has left.

Any time the squad is used as an excuse remember Bielsa was bringing Jamie Shackleton and Tyler Roberts off the bench in our Promotion season.

He's allowed to be disappointed, he can be frustrated.

But it isn't am excuse, he's hardly been left with a squad put together on peanuts and free transfers.

Df has no room to complain and didn't last season either.

We played it in the first two pre season games with a slight variation in the second half of the second game (3-4-3 at times)

It actually suited James as he was quite involved and didn’t get caught offside as he was running from a deeper start point.

We started the first pre season game with this line up apart from Strujik (Debayo) and Gnonto (Georgie)

It was only against Harrogate but the formation and crisp sharper passing was good, defensively it was pretty solid.
Harrogate only had a shot in the second half.

We won both games comfortably playing it and worked pretty well, especially defensively.

There is not a manager on earth that could win promotion this season with our current 19 man squad, and I include Bielsa in that. Nowhere near enough depth and we'll short of quality, that's just fact. Therefore unless things change in the next ten days or so, the club are setting DF up to fail.
Blaming DF for not winning promotion last year is also very harsh (IMO ) we lost so much ground at the start of the season while DF & co were busy sorting out all the want aways, but for me the real killer was the International break when the Welsh lads came back in an absolute mess basically. Please try and remember prior to that break we were absolutely flying, DF had them playing & believing in themselves and it was working. He was a decent manager then and he still is IMO he just needs some tools to work with.

Our squad (with or without Largie) should be good enough to beat Wendies should it not? That's what I'm talking about, obviously we need more for the season but for the now it should be enough.

I'd have more sympathy for the international break stuff if he hasn't spent all season telling us how amazing he is in the final 6 games

You can't blow your own trumpet all season then collapse at the exact point you said all season matters the most and is the bit you are the expert at and then go "ahh but wasn't it a bit difficult 7,8 months ago lads".

He has tools to work with, he just needs specialist expensive tools to make it work.

And like all bad workmen he blamed his tools when it mattered the most

They were the wrong tools, too young tools, needed older tools.

Let's hope he finds a way to use these tools better this season.

For our sake as a club he better and that needs to start on Friday IMO.
