Interesting as even if they win promotion they’ll still be under the EFL which means not falling foul of their rules.
However maybe they are of the opinion that a points deduction next season will be manageable.

Who knows but they will end up spending only a few million less than us without bringing in over £160mil in 6 months.

League One Northampton Town have signed Wales international Tyler Roberts on a season-long loan from Birmingham City.

I doubt their wage bill is anywhere near ours or that they have to find money to pay off debts from being in the prem.

I see Wrexham are top 2 in League 1.
If they get promoted that's 3 promotions in a row.

Re: League One & Two Thread -
It's very impressive.
Know they had a huge financial advantage in League 2 and National League but League 1 has some extremely wealthy owners.
Wycombe got some Kazakhstan billionaire.
Barnsley have Asian billionaires
Other clubs have big money as well.
Hard to imagine they have such a massive advantage in League 1?
Impressive stuff what they have done.

Whilst having a wealthy owner is still ideal in terms of investment into the infrastructure of the club, which will have an impact on signing players, as no professional will want to train on a turnip patch and work out in a lean too. In terms of buying better players they are still reliant on the club’s income for PSR.Cjay wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2024 10:32 pm It's very impressive.

Take Newcastle for instance. They are up there in the top 5 for wealthy ownership. They cannot exercise that financial muscle due to PSR.
Wrexham have a significant advantage as they are currently enjoying massive exposure due to their ownership and the Amazon series. For a lot of good players at that level and probably even above L1 they are an attractive proposition. If they make it to the championship, which looks likely they may then plateau somewhat.

Good point on the exposure hadn't thought of that.DDB220 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 10:49 am Whilst having a wealthy owner is still ideal in terms of investment into the infrastructure of the club, which will have an impact on signing players, as no professional will want to train on a turnip patch and work out in a lean too. And the money that comes with it as well will help.
Some recognisable names they have.
Jack Marriott
James McLean
Steven Fletcher (must be pushing 60).
Be interesting to see if they can keep up the form

Stockport under the radar and building nicely.
Won National League in ‘22.
Won League 2 last season ahead of Hollywood Wrexham.
Now top of League 1
Gotta love that momentum.

Eastern & Barlow's teams top the table. Barlow's other team, Blackpool with the worst defence right now, are at the foot of the table.
