Breakfast Debate The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Tuesday 10th September) - Burnley injury crisis ahead of Elland Road trip

Post by Ellandback1 »

Good Morning. It's Tuesday 10th September, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road...

Burnley injury crisis ahead of Elland Road trip

Scott Parker faces a tough selection dilemma ahead of Saturdays clash at Elland Road between Leeds Utd and Burnley.

The Clarets boss currently has nine players on the treatment table, many of whom have missed International duty due to various knocks and ailments. Manuel Benson, Maxime Esteve, Jordan Beyer, Hjalmar Ekdal, Aaron Ramsey, Enock Agyei, Mike Tresor, Nathan Redmond and Hannes Delcroix are among those receiving treatment - it will be interesting to see how many miraculously recover in time for the weekend.

Leeds and Burnley have both been hotly tipped for automatic promotion. Any kind of advantage could stand either side in good stead for the long and arduous season ahead. Leeds are one of five sides still unbeaten in the league, whilst Burnley's 1-0 loss at the Stadium of Light see them one point and two places below the Whites in the Championship table.

Coops to pen two year deal with CSKA

Former skipper Liam Cooper is set to pen a two year contract at CSKA Sofia later today after agreeing personal terms with the Bulgarian outfit. The 33 year old spurned Leeds offer of a twelve month deal, always insisting he wanted a two year contract. He held talks with Blackburn and Hull, but they too were unwilling to match his demands. Finally, after spreading his search abroad, CSKA agreed a deal that will see Coops through to the Summer of 2026.

Scott Parker has released a full statement as to why certain players on his team were on the treatment table and not on International duty... he is glad to report that they all have made a complete recovery and are now fit and healthy to play Leeds at the weekend.

Manuel Benson
Slipped on a banana peel while trying to juggle oranges during halftime.

Maxime Estève
Tripped over his own shadow while attempting to out-dribble it during training.

Jordan Beyer
Injured while attempting to pull a tablecloth off without moving the dishes at a team dinner.

Hjalmar Ekdal
Got tangled in a giant ball of yarn while chasing a cat for "reflex training" exercises.

Aaron Ramsey
Pulled a muscle trying to explain the offside rule to a confused pigeon in the team locker room.

Enock Agyei
Sprained his wrist attempting to high-five the stadium mascot.

Mike Tresor
Tried to do a backflip to celebrate a goal, but accidentally launched himself into the crowd.

Nathan Redmond
Stuck in a revolving door at the team hotel, resulting in mild dizziness.

Hannes Delcroix
Hurt his back while attempting to reenact his favorite goal celebration in slow motion for social media.

I’d read nothing in to those Burnley injuries I’m sure most will make the team sheet and even if they don’t I’m sure the players they bring in will perform for them - be a tough game whatever happens - we beat Ipswich and Leicester twice last year and still didn’t go up so I won’t read too much in to the result whatever happens.

Not much disclosed relative to what had already been publicly stated, IMHO. More “meat” relative to ticketing than anything else…

Minutes were only 3 short pages... I think they were only there for the tea and biscuits.

Apparently TSB are interviewing AK in the next week or so. That will be an interesting watch, Dan Moylan is a very decent interviewer. Hopefully a more detailed insight into the summer transfer window.

I think it was Bogusz's 1st Senior Cap for Poland. He lasted about 60 minutes in a mostly ineffective debut. But he's had a great season so far for Los Angeles FC with 13 goals in 24 matches. And the rumors are flying that he might be making a move to Celtic in the January window. Which would be a lateral move at best in my view. But it would get him back to Europe.
