Have listened to about 20 minutes of it so far I think he does a decent job of discussing the ongoing in the club

Unlike many I dont ascribe superpowers to football club owners

Nor am I jealous becuase the get paid more than me.

Dan & Michael grilled Angus.

Fair play to Kinnear appearing on these things annually, whether you agree with him or not you've got to respect the fact he opens up to face questions.

The main point to take out of the interview for me was that we can expect an annnouncement from the club fairly soon that a planning application has gone in to increase the ER capacity to circa 53,000.

Angus referred to what he described as more premium general admission seating, similar to what the Bremner Suite is now and how that had worked well for Arsenal and West Ham. Basically it's a decent seat with a bar facility for prior and post match that doesn't cost the earth but will increase revenues sufficiently to justify the development.

Surprised this hasn’t generated more comments, I think it was a good interview and it’s good of Angus to do this and provide the clubs perspective on recent events. I do think he has unintentionally brought Aaronson back in to the lime light and it’s unfair to criticise the player for a choice the club made.

Kinnear certainly talks the club up and the work behind the scenes sounds great but we all know that without promotion it all turns to dust pretty quickly.

Seems you may game been correct, and me wrong, regards the stadium development pal.

I’ll still believe it when I see it though 😁😁😁

Same here as still just all talk until there's an actual spade in the ground. Interesting though the plan seems to involve the North Stand as well which would still be totally general admission tickets once redeveloped.

Anyway let's see what they actually announce in the coming weeks.

53000 is actually around a 45% increase in capacity which is not to be sniffed at.

I did hear, from someone who used to be on the supporters advisory group, that they were intending to fill in the stairwells that we walk up to get to our seats would be filled in with seats and then entrance would be from the bottom.

Not sure how that would work in practice, I can imagine it will be carnage after the game as many thousands of people try to leave.

It's a nightmare for those of us at the higher end of the kop. God help us if we had to make an emergency exit.

Obviously I’ve visited you up there mate, I dread to think what would happen in an emergency for you lot.

It’s such an easy in and out for me, I’ll be disappointed if they do fill those stairwells in but I can completely understand why they want to increase the capacity.

But he was absolutely guaranteed to say they couldn't find anyone better than Aaronson to replace Georgie (after naming lots of totally nonsense targets we definitely tried to sign).

Then claiming was no middle ground better than Aaronson

And apparently he did

Most predictable thing ever :)
I've listened to the interview 3 times now and he never said that in any of them

Presumably you said it for dramatic effect because I don't believe you've listened to Kinnear repeat himself for what is it 4.5 hours?

Fell asleep on first listen so went back over the bits I missed and then played it again in total, I'm on holidays and was bored lying out, what he says is if we had signed Aaronson this summer he would have been seen as a replacement for Rutter, that's a fair comment but we didn't and he isn't

It's nonsense though and just puts more pressure on Aaronson.

Then naming people like Buendia and McAtee as targets, may as well have named Xavi and Iniesta.

I'd have more time for Kinnear if he just held his hands up and said "yeah we failed in this respect".

But he's a proper politician.

How would our fans get to their sits from the bottom? It would be calamitous going up to seat prior kick-off & even worse at the end of the game when everyone is exiting at the same time.

The East Stand which holds 18,000, clears long before the kop does, in fact the whole stadium is virtually is empty by the time I leave the ground.
