Should have been defended to be fair.... Meslier could have done better tooJaydog wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 1:38 pm Incredibly underwhelming tbh.
Outside of the Gnonto & Joseph chances there was barely anything of note.
Its hard not to come to the inclusion that Parker out coached Farke today. A bit lucky maybe with the Solomon slip but took the chance which we didnt and got what we deserved

All credit to Burnley.
They came in with a plan and executed it very well.
We had no answer.

They were more open before the goal. The Joseph chance came from them overplaying at the back. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 1:36 pm I'm not a big Farke fan but these two statements are contradictory.

Surely it's up to the coach to see the problems on the pitch and then solve themBillyBremner wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 1:39 pm Everyone putting the blame on Farke but he didn’t slip?

The plan is the same as everyone else. It's only Farke who can't see it.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 1:39 pm All credit to Burnley.

I am not disappointed by zis result. Ve dominated ze ball and zis allowed only Burnley to play in our half ferry not often. Mein Kapitan and zat American boy both played ferry good, so I took zem off so they can not be blamed for ze not vinning. I vill not look at ze table until next July. I am looking forward to having a selfie mit Vill Ferrell. A good afternoon, I think.

I think Meslier thought near post and Bogle should have closed down much faster. What the slip did mean was the the likes of Struik etc were wrong footed thinking the ball was coming back into the box. Cost them a few seconds

Taking Amps and Aaronson off seemed to say, I'll cut my losses and rest/save them. Ethan was still up and down like an energizer bunny, Aaronson didn't look tired either.Orange Box wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 1:42 pm I am not disappointed by zis result. Goals change games as they say.
Burnley scored and shut up shop.
We could have played till tomorrow and not scored.
The narrowness with no natural 10 to play eye of the needle passes is a glaring issue.
Couldn't believe how narrow we were at times 2nd half.
Even Jesse would have gone "steady on my German bro bit of width yeaaah".

This was the starkest difference in the match. Pretty equal on the field, but not even close IMHO between the posts.

Parker was who I thought would be the right fit when we sacked Marsch as I believe he was on his way out at Anderlecht at the time.

Re: Leeds Utd v Burnley Match Thread
Yep, says it all the only one on one chance came from them trying to overplay at the back, not from breaking down the low block. But Farke still persists with that style.Cjay wrote: ↑Sat Sep 14, 2024 1:45 pm Goals change games as they say.
