Been there when I was in Beverley, then went across to Hornsea, then back toward a little place called Warley cross.

We were thinking of heading to Hornsea after our meal for a walk on the seafront, but it's blowing a gale & drizzly. Nice café that serves homemade cake near Hornsea bowls club, we'll leave that for a sunnier day.

A friend of mine has just flitted over that way, more and more folk my age group moving out of Halifax and surrounding areas to better themselves and getting out of the shithole it's become.

Taste & smell are intricately linked so its a taste that reminds you of a smell & vice versa. Pinotage from SA always reminds me of rubber.
Just dont buy rondo based wine from the UK is my advice.

It's a different world over here in the east with regard too much of the UK.

The best neighbourhood we've ever experienced, who look out for each other, then there is our bowls group whose company we enjoy every week. Plenty of socialising with both groups of friends. More to come this week.

Also, unlike further south, the majority of people we don't know, say good morning or hello when we are walking on our coastal/rural adventures.

I could never live in a city/town or away from east ever again.

Northumberland has the similar feel too!

1st thing I taste in Pinotage is pepper but still enjoy it, Could never distinguish the hints of this or that in wine, it’s either nice or not, mostly nice though. A tv presenter once described a bottle of wine like a Sunday morning in bed when you didn’t have to go for the Sunday newspapers
Just a random question, how do you go from erecting fences to picking grapes or do you just picket up as you go ?

I’d love to do that and follow the whole process through to the end. We visited the Douro Valley this summer while in Porto and took a sightseeing, wine tour with a river cruise, fantastic day. The guide at the winery said the temperature gets up to 50 degrees in the height of summer and they’re finding it harder & harder to get pickers so if you’re at another loose end……………Love the Douro wines & a good glass or two of Port. Wouldn’t normally dilute Port but try a glass of white Port with some tonic, a cinnamon stick & a sprig of mint mmmmmmm

That is probably benchmark pay for Portugal . A tough day for that kind of money although a nice “office”.

No its not particularly late. Last 2 years it’s finished middle of October but this year probably first week of November. In parts of Italy they are still harvesting atm and yet in the South of France it started late August early September.
Currently a massive investment in vines in the UK.
People are banking on temperatures increasing.

You're right Tyzy, the dump is 25 miles away from us, we rarely venture to Hull unless we have a hospital appointment or Leeds are playing at the KC.

I suggest you & anyone interested of the history of places, pubs, castles, churches, etc watch these travel vlogs put out by Andrew & Claire with their two dogs Pablo & Dora.

The couple are from Barnsley & give an informative, humorous insight on the places they visit, mainly coastal/rural areas.

Much better than watching TV imo! Jill & I hope we bump into them one day.
