The Chase/Tipping Point are a bit easy, WWTBAM is too slow for me... I hit 26 on UC last week, personal best.

Bradley Walsh is top class, so makes it worth watching but I don't really do the quiz

Three best quizzes are on the radio though. Round Britain Quiz, Brain of Britain and Counterpoint with Paul Gambaccini (proper music quiz)

Mastermind I skip onto the general knowledge round unless someone's specialist is Zappa or Floyd or something I know something about

Too clumsy and slow for me ... Spends too much time on banter..

Can’t do with Clarkson.
We went down to watch the filming of Top Gear once, Hammond and May were fantastic with all the audience where as Clarkson just took himself off, didn’t want anything to do with us.

Met them once very briefly as a kid at one of the TG live things, all were pleasant enough

It was a ridiculous question....1964white wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 8:54 pm I was convinced, a youngish bloke from Edinburgh would win a £million with his vast mind of knowledge on tonight's episode, he hadn't used a lifeline until the £125,000 question & eventually reached the £250,000. Then he was given a stinker of a question which stumped him, fortunately he took the money, a cool quarter of a million.

And mine. I’d like to say I manage to get more right than I do though…..although I’m pretty good on the missing vowels round at the end.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 4:48 pm Mastermind I skip onto the general knowledge round unless someone's specialist is Zappa or Floyd or something I know something about
Only Connect is my favourite on TV.
Although the one we’d recorded and watched Monday I did get an answer on the 2nd clue………Barbados/Club Med

I haven't really watched any quiz shows since the weakest link was in its pomp in the early 2000's.
I used to watch 15 to 1 every day back in my student days.
There was a Jeremy Beadle quiz on radio in the mid 90's that i used to enjoy.

Came up in a book I was reading years ago. Don't recall the context but once heard/read never forgotten. Chances are under the lights and for that amount of money I'd have bottled it though..

I envy you, I wish I could remember everything I've read. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 11:31 am Came up in a book I was reading years ago. Don't recall the context but once heard/read never forgotten. Chances are under the lights and for that amount of money I'd have bottled it though..
I tend to remember useless information from many decades ago, a sign of ageing I suspect.
