You don't have the record Piroe has at this level if you are as bad as that suggestsThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 6:10 pm Difficult choice, with Joseph you get movement, pace, assists, hold up play and goal threat. With Piroe you get goals but slow, very poor movement and seldom assists ...
Joseph is a talented lad with lots of potential.
Piroe is a proven quantity at this level and has been for years whose been used poorly by Daniel Farke which has convinced people he's a poor player (same as Spence and Roberts and Anthony etc).
Played in his best position with the right structure behind him he's probably the best all round striker in the league.
Structure has always been the problem, played in a less cautious team (like vs Norwich in the playoffs where we had to win) Piroe was immense.
Or vs Sunderland where as Farke said himself the midfield was more attacking than he'd like (because the 2 players are naturally more attacking) and therefore played riskier and faster more attacking passes Piroe was immense.
If we continue as we did vs Sunderland JP would be brilliant.

Only one thing worse than an international break, the total anti-climax Leeds United usually deliver after waiting two weeks for a game
Hoping for another Sunderland like performance, but without the last minute drama this time!

Sorry but can't agree that Piroe was immense against Sunderland. Took his goal very well but apart from that he wasn't really much of a threat if I remember correctly and to be honest if he hadn't scored most of us would have been saying he had another ineffective game.Cjay wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 8:58 pm You don't have the record Piroe has at this level if you are as bad as that suggests![]()

I prefer Saturday lunchtimes to Friday nights.YorkshireSquare wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 7:49 am Not only the breaks but the random days, last three games will have been on Friday, Friday and Tuesday.
Totally messes up your weekends!
I know I’m not unique, but with a disabled wife at home, Friday nights really aren’t good.

It was his flick on that started the 2nd goal as well.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 9:44 am Sorry but can't agree that Piroe was immense against Sunderland. Not sure what else people expect, he scored and was involved with the 2nd.
Won a few fouls as well.
A confident Piroe is top level in this league, only have to look at his time at Swansea.
Great finisher obviously but much better at everything else which people overlook imo.
But surely even if it wasn't the case being a tip finisher is enough? Haaland mainly does fook all but score

As it's likely Piroe will start tonight let's hope what you're seeing is shown on the field tonight as we'll need everybody performing well.Cjay wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 12:06 pm It was his flick on that started the 2nd goal as well.

Could well be both given injuries and lack of preparedness for many in our squad

You missed something. Piroe had a very good all round game. He was involved from deep several time. Made a couple of really good runs with the ball. And he was in the right place when it mattered. He had a great game against Norwich in the playoffs last season. The Sunderland performance was similar. Unfortunately those have been isolated performances. If we get more performances like the two I mentioned we have an awesome striker.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 9:44 am Sorry but can't agree that Piroe was immense against Sunderland. Re: Leeds Utd v Sheffield Utd Match Thread
Here we go. Its finally over that pretend International crap. England won't exit in about 40 years anyway. Who cares what the German will do with the current side. He's no Bertie Vogts.
Its got to be Piroe hasn't it? Maybe throw Joseph on along with Piroe later on if we are chasing the game. I have a bad feeling for this one. Maybe a hangover from Sunderland. I think that now we have moved away from the exceptional to the mediocre.... it will play right into Gert Wilders hands.
Solomon could have a big say late on in the game before he's out injured again for another 3 weeks. Mes will have been to see a man about a sprinkler and Firpo comes back from International duty with only one thing on his mind..... Scoring.
The fans will be red-hot for this one. We either win 3.0 at a canter or they nick it 1-0.

That's why I usually watch all our games back, however such was the disappointment after the late howler that this time and perhaps understandably that didn't happen.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 2:37 pm You missed something.
