Radio 2 DJ Gary Davies.

He seems to be everywhere on the station.

I turn the radio off whenever I hear his voice.

My word this government get dumber by the week.

She isn't even qualified to run a bath let alone the economy.

0.1% Growth, she is about to put the country into negative growth and quite possibly into a recession.

Here come food shortages, food price hikes which leads to inflation, interest rates will not fall so higher mortgages and high rents.

Every department under Starmer is run by imbeciles and his plan to throw billions at other countries and tax everything to death in the UK.

Morons.

Unfortunately we are trouble with the biggest democratic mistake.... How is it we can support a war in another country while our elderly are robbed of vital fuel allowances. The Farmers are now protesting and so they should....... If you have a freezer start stocking up now.....

I know mate, it absolutely boils my blood, I don't watch any live BBC TV at all, I might watch the odd thing on the iplayer, but because I have a cable TV I can't get out of paying for this tax without being threatened with court action.

There is no choice of opting out, it's not subscription model in place which is grossly unfair.
There's lots of people on YouTube that show ways of getting out of paying it but I'm waiting until my TV package expires and I'll cancel it and grab a broadband only deal somewhere and stop paying the high wages of these BBC presenters.

I think if it did go subscription based it would collapse this corrupt broadcasting co.

Perhaps I’m misunderstanding it but what the government haven’t done is target the “right” people in the farming debacle. So people like Clarkson are clearly targeting a loophole. Also if you are left a farm and have no desire or interest in farming and sell then you should be subject to IT.
But when its passed from generation to generation then no they absolutely shouldn’t pay anything otherwise they’ll be none left eventually.
But Clarksons piss was boiling when the reporter asked him directly “you bought a farm to intentionally avoid IT”
His face after that 🤣

More to it than that JD.

Clarkson has a working farm, not everyone has used it as a tax loop hole, even if he has his kids will inherit the farm anyway and he probably can afford to pay it.

Some will be forced to sell of parts of their farms to pay the bill after the owner dies which means the farm will not be operational to them but if that land is bought by government or private sector orgs that want to use that land for stupid vanity projects like Milibands carbon capture nonsense or other then we start to see a bigger picture.

Bill Gates is doing this on a grand scale across the world, he's buying meat farms - hmm why is that?
He is the largest private owner of farmland in the United States, with an estimated 275,000 acres.

There is no real profit for these owners because farms are used as production materials which has been squeezed so much by the government and supermarkets that drive prices down.

It is a death tax on things that have already been taxed on, the farmer is taxed, the buildings are taxed, the machinery is taxed, the fuel is taxed, the fertilizer is taxed, the produce is taxed. TAX TAX TAX = Cash grab.

It should be scrapped, sick of this absolute bullshit of excuses that this government keep using to fill in their totally fixable economy or an NHS quick fix when so much wealth is allowed to pour billions out of the country to others and spending billions on illegal migration because they can't deliver anything that they promised.

This hits family farms that do not benefit out of it, those that put food on the shelves.
When the food shortages kick in and we lose these arable lands, the only thing some folk will have to eat is their words. (MPs mainly)

Are we going to lose even more farming and rely on more imports like every other thing we used to manufacture, we are making ourselves weaker.

And the BBC are the last people to throw accusations at people they were still paying Huw Edwards his massive salary out of our money.

Just heard that £500m defence cuts as ships, drones and helicopters to be scrapped, not a great time when they are funding long range missiles to Ukraine and they are poking the bear like Putin who is threatening the west, we'll have no defence.

More Labour lunacy, I'd rather have Clarkson running the show than those imbeciles.

I’m not sure all farmers are cash poor tbh. Thats a myth. But I would support them in this situation for obvious reasons but any loopholes should be closed.

Of course not but they still do not benefit from the infrastructure of a working farm and out storage/out buildings/gear, just like you may own a house, it might be worth 200k, you won't see it in your bank account unless you sell it, then you still need a place to live or to pass on to family and if you go over the IHT threshold would you like HMRC taking a bite of your estate, of course you wouldn't.

Farmers are custodians and their farms are generational hand me downs for generations of families that never ever see the profit from, they profit from the work the do on the farm and that is getting harder with price wars and cheap imports.

The government want small farms closed to land grab for more houses, wind farms etc., and to pay for these 5* hotels.
Farmers earn around 1 - 2% of the farms value in salary for god knows how many hours they work in all weathers, the more they invest in the infrastructural growth and agricultural equipment that can cost an absolute fortune even 2nd hand, the more they are taxed, then there are losses to accumulate on grains, floods, animal husbandry and so on.

IHT is a tax on tax, it should be stopped, I bet a huge percentage of millionaire MPs don't pay it, Starmer doesn't even pay tax on his pensions but wants that rate to rise on yours.

How many MPs take their business HQ's out of the UK to evade tax, maybe they should practice what they preach.

Labour are a high tax, low growth communist party.

Stalin didn't like farmers either.

Wouldn’t argue with any of that Brad. As I say I support them in this generally speaking and I have bitter experience of IHT. Why the F do they have to get their money first is beyond me but what about mega rich farmers of which there are plenty. Should they pay their dues to support the ones that cant.
I think they should if they have millions in the bank then they can afford it.
