Meslier - 7 (not much to do TBF)
Bogle - 6.5 (quiet from him today by his normal standards)
Firpo - 6 (not much to rate, TBF)
Tanaka - 8 (strong performance, but slightly more subdued and less influential than his previous performances)
Rodon - 8.5 (solid and got that goal!!)
Struijk - 8 (unheralded, yet strong performance)
James - 7 (kicked into gear late so will go with a 7)
Rothwell - 8.5 (nearly tied with Rodon for MOTM)
Piroe - 6.5 (outside of a couple of touches and shots, was pretty quiet)
Aaronson - 8 (was arguably our most dangerous offensive threat, but give the nod to Rothwell given his dead ball prowess. Great game from him, though)
Solomon - 7 (dangerous, but a quieter performance relative to his recent performances)

Wober - 8 (outstanding, was almost a striker today given his upfield push)
Gnonto - 6.5 (per faaip’s note below)
Joseph - 6
Ramazani - 6
Guliavogui - 6

Gnonto got half a point from me for that stunning pass of the game .. I miss him when he doesn't play, such a pleasure to watch

Aaronson - 8
Solomon - 7

Handling and Distribution I guess and there was one great pass late on, his handling was good too.

Thought I should check the reports on Piroe's display to see if I was missing something after watching the game at ER, & a replay of the game this morning.

I'll stick with initial observation of Joel's performance, average/poor!

YEP
"A repeat of previous performances. Not a factor in the penalty area beyond one shot that was well saved. Not where Leeds needed him" 5/10

Leeds Live
"Decent try in the second half that forced a parry from the goalkeeper, but other than that it was a fairly forgettable afternoon from the Dutch striker" 6/10

Leeds United News
"The only thing Joel Piroe did in the first half was a blast the ball needlessly over the bar from 30 yards as Leeds started running out of ideas before the opener.

Needs to be a bit more involved when Leeds are struggling but once they were ahead he looked dangerous, with only a great save denying him a goal" 6/10

Yorkshire Post
"Unlucky not to score but not particularly effective over the course of the game" 6/10

Football Insider
"Not his day in front of goal. Only really saw one opening which was brilliantly tipped round the post by Zetterstrom. Otherwise couldn’t make a great deal happen" 5/10

Any rating above 6 for Piroe seems a touch too high for me, especially when you consider the work rate & contribution of his teammates receiving 7 & 8s.

7 Meslier -
7 Bogle

9 Rodon - So commanding & many runs & passes into the oppositions half, almost played as a third midfielder. Oh! his debut Leeds goal completed an outstanding display from Joe.

n/a Firpo

8 Struijk - Excellent defensive work from Pascal.

8 Tanaka - Another polished performance.

9 Rothwell - JR was all over the park with some excellent passes, corner-kicks & a couple of crunching tackles.

8 James - One sublime pass in the build-up for Wober's goal.

8 Aaronson - After a low-key display at Blackburn, Brenden hits back at his critics. I'm giving him an assist for Wober's goal.

7 Solomon

5 Piroe - Eight pieces of nice play spoilt by eight moments of poor play.

Subs:
8 Wober - Good moments defensively & going forward. Watch Max's intelligent run from the left for his goal, runs our No.9s should be making into the box.

6 Gnonto
6 Joseph

What was the highest mark they gave. No one gets above an 8 for me in any game unless they have a worldly and score a hat trick etc.

I meant for the team. Rather than just Piroe.
