Maybe we could get some PL interest in Piroe ?

For example if Wolves or similar wanted him then I’d be inclined to take the money and put it towards the striker we desperately need.

Problem is - if there is a 9 available that is better than Piroe why would Wolves not go for that option instead.

A team battling relegation will not buy a punt that has not played at the top level. With the exception of Leeds two years ago.

I’m interested in the concept of purchasing a “proven goalscorer”. When you buy said player he is only a proven goalscorer somewhere else. So what you are saying is “I want a proven goalscorer who can also be a proven goalscorer at Leeds Utd”.
I’d prefer the proven 10 although as previously mentioned he’d only be proven somewhere else. We have the bread to buy one after all.
Little bakery joke there 🥖

As i have said in the past there were 3 or so better number 9's in this league last season and who are still in this league so we need to go out and get them in Jan 25.
Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

How do you know they will become proven here?

If Piroe is the master finisher the some believe he is then maybe Man City should be signing him :)

Plus those at the bottom of the PL should consider him worth a punt as he will score goals if you give him enough tap ins. Sorry I mean provide with sufficient service.

He's not has anything remotely close to a reasonable service at Leeds United! It's not as if Piroe keeps constantly fluffing his lines and he is IMHO arguably a good finisher.

Indeed it does... ask Kamala all about it. A billion spent and nothing to show for it, except 20M in debt.

sounds very much that you are happy with DF as our manager (failed to secure promotion last year) and clearly only as a Plan A and is totally lost when this does not work.

No chance of getting some League 2 interest in Bamford I suppose !!

Well said. Piroe is a proven championship striker, so why would we be better off going out and buying another proven championship striker to replace him?

I have highlighted it several times. Piroe is not missing bucketloads of chances, ala Joseph or Bamford. He is simply being starved of chances. It is up to others to find him, same as for most strikers. I remember all the talk in the summer about dropping Kane from the England team, this a striker who has been scoring for fun in Germany and setting new records. The problem was not Kane but that we didn't create openings for him to score. Create a chance for England and you'd want Kane to be on the end of it, same as with Leeds you'd want Piroe to be on the end of it. Yes both will miss chances but create enough and they will convert a higher percentage of those chances than other players.

Piroe has shown that if you give him a chance from 8 yards out with just the keeper to beat then he rarely fails to score.

Or in other words he needs very high quality chances created for him and what he can’t do is beat a man or create his own chances by dropping a shoulder and shifting the ball to get his shot off.

Lots about his finishing to like but also some serious inadequacies in his game as well.

Piroe is a championship proven second striker... there is a difference. He needs that striker to play off. 442 or 352 would suit him much better

Viewing that video, you can understand why we signed Piroe.

So create more chances for him. It was hardly like Gary Lineker was prime Messi.
