All championship level players imo!andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 9:51 pm One of my biggest frustrations that we've let some promising young players drift away - Joffy, Greenwood, Drameh, Cresswell.
Greenwood & Drameh have been in & out of their respective teams they are playing for since leaving Leeds.
I have to say, Farke & his coaches have got Joffy looking match-fit for his loan period.

A reminder of last minute goals and Joffy
Re: Joe Gelhardt- Joins Hull on loan
The problems clubs face with young promising players is keeping them happy and motivated when they are not playing. All the mentioned young players have the talent to have very good careers. Unfortunately, they are victims of circumstance concerning the clubs plight.
Managers trying to battle relegation and / or gain promotion tend to go with experience over promise. Young players unless they are outstanding and consistent like Gray for example, will just be bit part players and this will effect progression. The club has a duty not to stifle their careers. So moving on is a natural outcome. If we were an established mid table prem team these players would have all had extensive and considered loan experience during the periods they were sat on the bench getting the odd minute here or there.
That experience may have given them more opportunity to subsequently establish themselves in the team.

That was the last time I was at Elland Road, I still have the bruises from landing on some poor sod about three rows in front of me.
Ill allways be thankful I was there
