See, if you follow my advice and use quotes I’d know whether you are talking to me or not. I missed this gem, it’s only when I noticed that ddb mentioned my name that I showed interest.Mildlyanarchic wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 1:35 pm Your generosity of spirit needs refreshing but if you don't like my question about the difference between a coconut and a Scotsman - the answer is you can get a drink out of a coconut take comfort in the thought some of us find it funny.
I, personally, have never managed to get a drink out of a coconut, they’ve always smashed to smithereens when I’ve tried and the water has gone everywhere. Perhaps I should use a smaller sledgehammer?

The reality of course is that to the main reason for Bamford's injury problems is the ridiculous demands placed on the lone striker in Bielsa's system which he himself acknowledged were not sustainable over an extended period . When fit and firing he remains the best natural No.9 in the squad but it won't work bringing him on for 10/15 minute cameos and the evidence is now clear that at least for this season neither Joseph or Piroe provide a natural replacement for him . It would be my view that if he can be got back fit for 8 weeks or so he is a better striker than the various alternatives proposed and bought by others but only if he is used properly and started in the games for which he is available even if he only plays for 50/60 minutes after which you bring on Piroe/Joseph or both . Once Piroe isn't started up front as the starting No.9 he will start to pick up the type of goals which are the hallmark of his play and which he is never going to get against a Burnley style defence .I know Bamford has the capacity for the occasional howler but that is because he is regularly in there for those opportunities and I am struggling to remember when either Joseph or Piroe were on hand in the last bunch of games even to miss?

Bringing a defender in is not going to alter our promotion hopes.we will cope at that end of the field with what we have.
It’s the top end we need recruits, particularly when in a couple of the last few games a defender has been our biggest attacking threat!!

Fine on a loan for me, probably gagging for game time, he might be what we need for 4 months.
No obligation to buy, re-assess in June.
The ubiquitous use of unexplainable is inexplicable.
