Re: Trump
It seems that Trump is leading his country on a collison course with Europe.

I assume that most of you think the US should just keep funding this European war. European nations seem to have been happy with the current scenario for three years. Or did I miss all their attempts to negotiate an end?
I must admit that I am amazed at the yanks on here seem happy to keep throwing their tax dollars at keeping the war going. But then, orange man bad, right?

Re: Trump
So European nations are happy to keep funding a war, but couldn't provide funding and manpower to help oversee fair elections in Ukraine? Somehow the same Russia that is close to collapse, can rig a Ukrainian election?malcolmw wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2025 7:45 pm Yes it is indeed hilarious. AS you can see below your hero Mr Trump is planning to enable his boss Mr. Putin to hold elections in Ukraine. And we all know how Mr Putin holds elections.

Russia and US develop 3-step peace plan for Ukraine that includes elections - Fox News
Story by Daria Dmytriieva•
The United States and Russia have developed a peace plan for Ukraine, which includes holding new elections as a key step in resolving the conflict, according to Fox News White House press pool correspondent Jacqui Heinrich.
The US and Russia have proposed a three-stage peace plan, which includes "a ceasefire, elections in Ukraine, then signing of a final agreement".
Jacqui Heinrich refers to diplomatic sources who claim that this plan is being actively discussed in Saudi Arabia, where key negotiations on conflict resolution are taking place.
Both Washington and Moscow consider holding new elections in Ukraine to be the key condition for the success of this peace process. However, this proposal will likely become controversial since Russia has long been criticized for conducting undemocratic elections. In Ukraine, there is widespread fear that such elections could result in a pro-Russian president being elected.
Even though Ukraine does not support the idea of a "puppet" president, some sources indicate that Russia believes the likelihood of electing such a candidate is quite high.
At the same time, Vladimir Putin is convinced that any candidate other than the current Ukrainian president will be more flexible and open to negotiations and concessions.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump, who is also involved in the diplomatic process, is reportedly ready to support any election outcome, including the possibility of a pro-Russian candidate winning.
Both Trump and Putin believe that Zelensky's re-election chances are quite low.
The White House has not yet commented on these discussions, but an official statement is expected soon.
First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Oleksandr Korniyenko, has stated that the proposed election dates currently being discussed do not reflect reality.
According to him, this is a political manipulation at this stage.
Lefties: Trump is a threat to democracy
Also lefties: We support no elections for Ukraine because the wrong person might win.

UK was at war with Germany in July 1914 the USA joined in April 1917 only after President Woodrow Wilson asked Congress to declare war on Germany, citing reasons such as German submarine attacks on American ships and the Zimmermann Telegram, which proposed a military alliance between Germany and Mexico against the United States.
Again the UK was at war with Germany in September 1939 the United States entered World War II on December 8, 1941, the day after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. This event prompted President Franklin D. Roosevelt to ask Congress for a declaration of war against Japan2. Shortly after, on December 11, 1941, Germany and Italy declared war on the United States, which led to the U.S. also declaring war on these Axis powers.

Perhaps if someone gives you a drop off novichok to drink instead of all this imaginary beer you expect to drink you might get the idea
Putin kills his opponents both home and abroad. He has purposefully removed any dissent from his country, stop thinking this is about money. It isn't.
So I ask again, what is it that Putin has over Trump?
Probably a video of him in a hotel room when he used to spend so much time in Moscow. IMO

You care about elections in Ukraine? When was the last fair election in Russia? Ever heard of Navalny? But Trump sees fit to be calling Ukraine out on elections?Aussieleeds wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 8:00 pm So European nations are happy to keep funding a war, but couldn't provide funding and manpower to help oversee fair elections in Ukraine? Seems to me Putin could well have Trump in his pocket, wasn't there once a rumour doing the rounds that Russia has some videos of Trump romping with some filles in a hotel room, would make sense, we know what he's like - 'grab em by the pussie'

I couldn't agree more Cussie. I look in to this thread and my first reaction to some posts sets my blood boiling and I'm tempted to respond, but now that I'm an old crumbly I give myself a few seconds to calm down. Having done so, I have a good laugh to think that there are clearly some people who just won't see the truth staring them in the face. I then ask myself do they really 100% believe the disinformation, or are they too embarrassed to admit they've been conned so double down on the nonsense posted.
I'm especially minded of a recent post that referenced missing $100sm in aid sent to Ukraine. Perhaps occasionally looking at a reputable news source might help said posters to not be so ill informed. For example try reading this https://edition.cnn.com/2025/02/19/poli ... index.html rather than parroting the nonsense made up by the Daily Heil, Express or gbeebies.
Or listening to the lies told by Trump, who now thinks he's the King of America. Oh where's my source for making such a ludicrous comment? Um give me a moment, yes I've got it the OFFICIAL WHITE HOUSE twatter account yesterday.

If they made a movie of this whole thing you would dismiss it as being ridiculous fiction that couldn't possibly happen. But it has and we have it for at least the next 4 years.
I don't know who are worse, the people who don't see it or the people who see it but don't care.

But wtf is going on in Britain and America today (mainly USA) that people are so taken in with Jesse Watters, Sean Hannity and that absolute prick that i can't stand or even remember his name types, when i ever decide sometimes to pop on Fox news, it's cringeworthy tv, but are Americans really that dumb to be sucked in by the way they're spoken to on that channel, they can't be that gullible, can they ? And our own right wing lot are just as bad, I'll bet there's a good few on here that wanted and voted for Brexit, and voting without having a clue what they were voting for or against, 99% would be 'Witherspooners' shouting 'stop the migrants' whilst receiving their giro's fortnightly.
These type of people are brainwashed by these Fox news type shows, and they've landed here now.

I wondered why Starmer was more bothered about throwing billions into Ukraine indefinitely
and yet not so keen on doing the same for the UK.
He seems more obsessed with stuff like that while our economy nose dives into oblivion, interest rates being cut, BoE down grading UK growth and a fiscal crisis looms.
The Trump situation turning on Ukraine is obviously going to benefit him somewhat I don't personally think Putin has one over him on anything else.
The UK has it's own possible options to dig into but they won't do it, crazy really because wind power isn't going to be enough to power the whole of the UK, we have been lied to continuously over renewable energy being cheaper and it isn't, it is more expensive and it will get even more expensive this year with more hikes to follow the rise in April and every 3 months after that.
Let's hope they see sense and Windy Ed Milipede gets the boot in a reshuffle.
