Totally agree. Ive seen their goal for the first time just now, Mes not to blame. He desperately tries his best to save it, it's what goalkeepers do.

What about the handball - that was a clearer penalty. The ref said that the guys arm was in a natural position - indeed it was for an acrobat !!

My thoughts are.....everytime opposition have a long throw or a corner I poo my pants....we have an average defence, a decent shot stopper but a potentially brilliant attack.....that's us imo.

Sheffield United fans not happy with Wilder.

First of all as one of them put it "he was practically bumming us in his press conference".

And secondly they felt his subs killed the game for them.

Campbell playing well Wilder took him off.

Rak-Sakyi pace on the break, took him off for an unfit and slow Hamer and played him out of position.

Then just after our 1st he took of Brereton-Diaz an experienced goal threat and replaced him with Tom Davies. An injury prone cm barely on nodding terms with goals and played him as a winger as well.

Didn't cover himself in glory Chris.

And fair play to DF, his subs may not have been particularly outside the box thinking (like for lime stuff) but it worked.

Gnonto was bright, Joseph was involved.

Was delighted to see Rak-Sakyi going off - he was playing really well and very impactful. Hamer was a liability for them. We dodged a bullet not signing him.

Davies and Cannon were ineffective. Don't think Cannon was worth the money - offered very little.

Respect to Wilder, he said it as he seen it in both games, apart from maybe 20 mins over both games we were easily the better team and easily the best team in the league.

Watched the replay after work and then watched the last 25 minutes again last night. I couldn’t believe the result after the first time

Has to be our best performance in a 25 minute stretch this season. We were a different animal that second half which was such a welcome change from the timidity on display in the first. There is such a “we got this” belief with this team that wasn’t there last season (pardon my “Americanism” there).

First off, and credit where credit is due, hats off to Herr Farke! Has to be the earliest substitutions made this season and they worked perfectly! Am wondering if his vantage point in the stands gave him a different view…one more similar to what us fans see, which caused the changes to come sooner.

Rothwell for Gruev added much more forward progression and urgency to get forward. It’s also apparent that he and Tanaka have a wonderful chemistry given all of their time together in the first half of the season.

Speaking of chemistry, and I haven’t read the rest of the thread (think I’m still on page 20 at the moment), but there is a certain chemistry between Joseph and Piroe that is lacking between Aaronson and Piroe. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but part of it involves Piroe dropping into support striker areas that Brendan would normally occupy. Piroe looked dreadful before that switch, but that change caused something to come alive in him and we were the beneficiaries because of it .

Oh!! And Piroe’s goal was a cracker! Might be my second favorite strike of the season (second to Tanaka’s one from long range).

So much more that could be said, but just very, very excited!! We have that team of destiny look about us. MOT!!!

Farke in the stands? Yeah, probably

Piroe certainly affected the game more from deep. Aaronson was disappointing yesterday and just couldn't get involved.

Tanaka and Rothwell have played a lot more games together than any other combo. It was interesting that we've all wanted to see Tanaka play further forward. But he was anonymous and much more effective when he dropped back into the DMC role.

Aaronson v. Piroe?

It’s an obvious thought. I do have a bit of a go at Aaronson now and again for all his endless running around, often without anything to show for it, but here’s a different angle. Does Aaronson tire out his markers to allow the slower moving but fast thinking Piroe to take advantage later on in the game? I’m not sure Piroe is an out and out 10, but he’s not an out and out 9 either. I’m just happy that this seasons team is greater than the sum of its individual parts. DF has worked wonders imo.

One of the first things I mentioned Joe, sat up there gives someone an overall view not just pitch level, I'm certin thats why he made his substitutions earlier.
