Poor back pass, though a firmer one could have cause problems, but the forward went through Meslier

OK some our guys aren't having a great game but this 11 has a passenger who never has a good game.

We're going to have to take a page from Sheffield United's book and learn how to win ugly.

Gruev and Aaronson not with it today. Just saying in case Farke is considering subs. We know the reality, but throwing it out there…think Joseph and Rockwell would give us that additional cutting edge.

Been a poor game. Can't afford to wait until the 75th min to make subs. Aaronson, Tanaka and Solomon off for Joseph, Rothwell and Gnonto for me.

Yes.
Tanaka is usually less flustered and Aaronson hasn’t been the same since he got engaged

A lack of intensity from a lot of players. Rodon an absolute monster as always.

Problem is, if the opposition dominated the shot vs us, we'd lose.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 12:47 pm HT 0-0

Re: Portsmouth v Leeds Utd Match Thread
The inclusion of Gruev always suggests we've set up more defensively and it's showed. Our three mids are not taking control as they need to. Tanaka playing too deep almost alongside Gruev for a double DMF and Aaronson has been anonymous apart from one move

Not sure if it's tiredness, early kick offs or it's our poor period of the season, but we have another early kick off on Saturday, so we need to snap out of it.

Too many sloppy passes especially in our own half.
Definite penalty, once again, would have been given in the prem.
Piroe should have scored.

I think Farke has him sitting too deep. Not sure what Aaronson's remit is but needs to be almost leading the line if Piroe is sitting deep

I think have to credit Portsmouth
Said they are the press Kings of the league and they are making it really difficult and forcing errors.
Piroe should have scored (think he's been one of our better players though).
Rodon saved us a few times
Not much else to say.

Agree, but think bringing on Rothwell will kick Tanaka into a higher gear. Similarly, Joseph on will further ignite Piroe (who’s having a decent game, by the way). BA had that clever pass and some other earlier involvement, but has been a bit quiet otherwise.John in Louisiana wrote: ↑Sun Mar 09, 2025 12:48 pm Tanaka and Gruev, certainly.
Aaronson had some excellent moments, including a pinpoint pass Solomon should have scored from.
