Which considering Rothwell gets all the dead balls and Aaronson is supposed to be in the creator position is telling

The corner from which we beat Sunderland recently was all Gnonto forcing a quality save from their keeper
I feel the same about Gnonto. We've seen it over the past 2 years. We only get the best out of him when he plays. That's why I think - even if Farke does see Solomon/James as his best combo - he needs to create more playing time for Gnonto. IMO we'll get the best from everyone if we try to spread the playing time a little more.

Still think Largie is very underused.

4 goals 2 assists in 714 minutes is miles above any of the other wingers.

He's also the most accurate shooter.

Gnonto is around 68% last I looked, what is Ramazani? Solomon was sub 50 last time I looked IIRC

What about saves for every shot? Goals to shots is not a measurement of accuracy.

You obviously know Aldershot was and maybe still is a very transient town being home of the British army back then so attendances were never great most weeks. A lot of local Leeds fans would likely have turned up to see the first ever visit by a Leeds team

I remember a period of not scoring for about 13 games at the Rec.
I know Aldershot well from my time in the military. Although haven’t been there since the 80’s.

Gnonto has 31 shots this season with 21 on target - 67%

scrol down to shots taken and I believe this as when watching games Gnonto is generally very accurate. He's forced a lot of good saves this season

I'd dispute that.

3 separate websites all have his shots taken as 60 and on target as 20ish

https://fbref.com/en/players/75fdd638/Wilfried-Gnonto

https://www.fotmob.com/en-GB/players/11 ... ied-gnonto

https://www.whoscored.com/players/43963 ... ied-gnonto

A 67% accuracy seems very high, Mo Salah officially only has just over 50%.

Gnonto and Ramazani are both great players but Solomon and James have earn't the shirt by their performances. That says it all really and in part it is why we're top of the league.

Plus any perceived burn out is more nonsense as both regularly get subbed off and it's just a fact that the better players in any team have to play more minutes.

Not seeing accuracy stats on who scored. Be amazed if he's had 60 shots this season in only what 20 starts?

I'm guesing blocked shots is causing anomolies here.

James has lost a couple of yards in pace. He's not getting behind defences with pace anymore and he had a good chance t odo that v Millwall but his legs wouldn't carry him.. Players get tired in long seasons, It amazes anyone is disputing that. Hell it was held up as a reason for last seasons failures

We rest/rotate less than anyone... Even when winning against us teams make subs at around 55/60 to keep the team fresh and no one has our strength of squad. We wait to 70/80.

I think we win the division and we should surpass 100 points doing that. The Portsmouth result shocked me though, even at half form we should have won that even if it was Pompey's FA cup final (we're everyones cup final so nothing new there)

We've looked tired last three games in my opinion. Tanaka, Firpo about to travel distances fo rinternational games and Rodon/James I think have high pressure games for Wales, though not as bad as last season. Though tbh, I've not followed the international games this season, I'm assuming it's not a qualification week

James has not lost any pace and if you can find anyone who watches him live who thinks that then I'd be very surprised. Happy to be proved wrong but I'm just not seeing that at all.

Last night for example he was in full flow a couple of times on breakaways but the crucial passes were played slightly behind him meaning he had to slow down to receive them.

Those are too high.

I'm sure of that.

People like Haaland and Salah are between 50-55%.

Even Messi in his prime hardly ever got above 60% accuracy in a season.

For context even someone like Phil Foden is in the low 30%s

I'd guess Piroe in the low to mid 40s would be our best.

Edit

If its removing blocked shots then pass I don't know what's normal/good/poor etc.

So if that's what yours are then may be right I don't know on that not looked into it

ruttermania wrote: ↑Thu Mar 13, 2025 10:44 am I thought we looked a bit nervy in the first half which caused a lot of sloppy play which invited Millwall onto us but luckily they had very little to offer in attack unless they had time for Cooper to lumber up the field and get his head to the ball. In the second half we were much better but still found it hard to craft clearcut chances . The Piroe GOAL was clearly onside and I feel that disallowing it discouraged similar type play . The Referee failed to do anything about persistent fouling and what seemed to be the clear targeting of James for roughing up . Solomon and Aaronson both looked far sharper than recent games so that bodes well for the run in particularly with the international break coming up. Rothwell played well but he still has that penchant for that odd Rodonesque pass straight to the opposition plus I think Farke is right when he says that his minutes need to be managed .Most of us think that DF knows exactly what he is doing and the record for fastest ever to 50 League wins pretty much proves it particularly when you consider the context in which he took over in the summer of 23.
Good post Rutter!!
