In 1967 United had a replay against Sunderland after playing a 1-1 draw at Roker Park in a F.A. Cup match. those day you could buy a seat in the Stands game by game. but this one attracted over 57,000. ground record and that game it was impossible to get a ticket, sitting or standing. two weeks earlier coming out of the stand after the match and walking up the steps one of them gave way and I twisted my foot. following morning went the Infirmary and two toes were broken, plaster cast foot to knee. 2 days before the match I am in my local club near the ground and a voice "What have you been doing" It was Keith Archer the General Manager at Elland Road. when I told him about the accident he said I should have reported it. when mentioned that I could not get a ticket he said ", Leave that me, Your Problems are now the Clubs problems ( Pure Bullshit) see you on Wednesday at 7.30 outside the "Officials Only" door, Sure enough we meet there, The place was like a madhouse, there hundreds on Elland Road trying to buy a ticket Once inside under the Stand he told one man to look after me. I expected a stand seat but as I limped behind him he opened a door and more or less pushed me through in a standing area which was jam packed with Sunderland fans as the game went on we all swayed, me on more or less on one leg. though United drew and Norman managed to break one of their players Legs the main thing was dozens were climbing over the Elland Road Scratching shed, then some barriers collapsed, people were hurt, and some were on the pitch.side for a while.

Afterwards the General Manager asked "Did I do ok. for you"

Apologies for long winded
So even back then they did not give two f**ks about the Fans.

Just got no faith in this club at the moment, the form of the team is an embarrassment, the manager doesn’t know how to fix it and the players are all wearing a permanent mask of shock on their daft Chevy chases. They all need a good dressing down and a smack up the arse not Farke making excuses for them whilst digging out a player he hasn’t given a fair chance for weeks.

I know it’s “we’re gonna stay with you forever…”but it should go both ways, tonight is the Last straw for me, they either give us a performance that doesn’t resemble a shite Sunday league side or I’m signing off till next season, it’s just not worth the time or emotional strain - not ruining anymore weekends with the family.

Edit: I know it’s petulant but it makes me feel better!

I feel the same WR. But I've been expecting this downward spiral. I was just thinking that if we get mauled tonight or don't turn up I'm not bothering about them any more this season.

To do that he would need to be on the pitch for little over 10 minutes

( Under United's greatest games )
I was at all three - the atmosphere at ER with 57,700 plus was amazing. I stood on the Lowfield Road terrace and moved from one end to the other without my feet touching the ground. Hull was an odd place to the third match as I don't think it held that many.
