I'd have quite happily stayed at home.
Apart from the obvious, the game, us lot had a great day out.

Breakfast, beers, easy drive there and back, beers at home. Perfect 👌

I think we will finish 3rd and then lose in Play-off Semis - really hope I am wrong but just worry how Pressure will take effect over these next 8 games.
I disagree,we'll get to the final and then lose .

Long coach journey, struggling with long coach journeys as I age.

Peterborough Services stop, breakfast bap that tasted like rubber.

Stopped off some busy bar that had stopped serving food, from the leftovers on the tables I witnessed, it was probably was a blessing in disguise.

Beer doesn't like me any more, so I don't feel the urge to get tanked up prior to the game.

Rain downpour & got soaked prior to the game in our National stadium.

Adam Armstrong scored in 24th minute & we were doomed from there on, despite Dan the man's efforts in the closing minutes.

Took us ages to get out of London.

A long, expensive & pointless day imo!

Yet, another cup final defeat I've attended since I last saw Leeds win at Wembley in 1972.

37% called it wrong.

The 10% who voted play-off-losers was a ludicrous opinion.

I had a sneaky 2 bets at the beginning of the season, one as champions and one as promotion, won a few bob.
Also had a bet a for plymouth game 0-7 !!!
My train of thought was 100 points and 100 goals scored, worth a few quid all the same.

And mine too, plus we weren't fighting with as many squad disruptions last season, even though we lost Summerville, Rutter & Gray. We had a settled base.

Our recruitment was excellent with some shrewd signings.

All twelve incoming/signings made a contribution, some huge & those who had a minimal effect in our championship winning season.

Solomon/Tanaka/Bogle were the pick of the signings. Ramazani flashed, Rothwell was over rated. The other three didn't feature enough or at all

A+ for Solomon/Bogle/Tanaka. B for Rama, C- for Rothwell. The rest ungraded

We signed Rodon for £10m.

Rothwell deserves at least a B.

Aaronson 9 goals & 2 assists, probably an A minus or at least a B.

Wober scored a goal, and Guilavogui & Schmidt did their bit when coming on as subs.

My initial post should read ten signings as I forgot we'd signed Darlow & Byram in 2023.

Rodon was already here really... Aaronson was a Marsch/Orta signing, ditto Wober. Can't count those.

I'm very comfortable with my Rothwell grade... but then I didn't see him as some sort of dead ball expert.

I did say incoming/signings in my initial post.

At 10k, I thought the signing of Rodon was good value for our championship challenge.

Aaronson/Wober hadn't played in the champinship previously.

Rothwell assisted both Struijk's goals beautifully vs Sunderland, and a couple more too. JR was essential for us once we lost Ampadu & Gruev to injuries.

They all played their part, imo!

I'd say Rothwell didn't stand out as a loan player. You expect loan players from premier league clubs to be key players. But, outside of that, as a squad player, he was very useful. Would at least merit the same rating as Ramazani. Probably higher.

It is interesting that we made a lot of new signings yet it was done so well that there was minimal disruption.

I make it that we had 7 permanent signings : Bogle, Schmidt, Ramazani, Tanaka, Cairns, Guilivogi and Rodon

We also had 2 loan signings: Rothwell and Solomon

And we also had to reintegrate Wober and Aaronsen who would have only known a few of the players at the club.

So for me it was the equivalent of 10 players coming in (not counting Rodon as he was already here). Yet it seemed like we didn't really rip the team, or its spine up. It shows to me how we should approach this summer. Solomon is possible our new Rodon in terms of making the loan a permanent deal. We then buy players such as we did with Bogle to replace a position where we had lost the starter. We then have others to compliment the squad and add competition, the likes of Aaronsen, Ramizani, Tanaka etc.

We were forced into using him unfortunately. The bright side being the Tanaka/Rothwell partnership usualy came ups against low block and they could pass it round the back 5 to their hearts delight

. Once teams started to press us and force errors it became a poor pairing as Tanaka can't play that DMF role and Rothwell just got played around.

The Sunderland game was an outlier, 4 assists (2 of those as a sub) and no goals from central mid is very poor, especially if you get to take all the dead ball chances.

He's at the height of his abilities too. Don't think he gets in many championship teams. I thought it a poor signing at the time, not changed my mind. Lets not compound it by paying for him.

Rama showed flair, and potential. I liked what I saw, a poor man's, no insult intended, Cry Summerville.. He has room to grow to justify the 10M pricetag but it's gonna be tough for him especially if we buy a LW to start

Little harsh on Ramazani imo.

Very limited opportunities in the league, less than 9 full games of minutes he managed 6 goals and 2 assists.

Almost a goal or assist a game.

Think Ramazani did exceptionally well with his limited opportunities
