No guarantee we finish above both Sunderland and Burnley

You'll finish above both. I would say this as a Toon fan but Sunderland's squad is terrible and I think they'll really struggle. They were lucky to make it. The gaps getting bigger and the money being asked for mediocre players even is scandalous. Average players and Clubs are asking £30m.The Subhuman wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:04 am No guarantee we finish above both Sunderland and Burnley
Madness. £100m gets you 3 decent players

Re: Premier League 25/26 Season
Probably but like us Sunderland can add so their squad can improve plus it's a young squad so room to get better. Burnley have a better defence imo already. I think it's likely we finish above both assuming everything goes right but no guarantees. The year we came down there was no way Forest would finish above us...but they didSpotty wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 5:15 am You'll finish above both. To save JD scrolling around, Thomas Frank heavy odds on favourite to replace Ange.

Crazy decision.
Big Ange will become a legend at Spurs as it will probably be 20 years before they next win a trophy.

Well you know how tight Levy is, probably well pissed off at having to buy a tin of polish for the new silverware
Average 1 manager every 2 yrs of Levys reign, 20 mangers so far..

Please! Let it happen. I've been banging on about Frank to Spurs for weeks.....could really unsettle Brentford (we need all the help we can get)Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 3:54 pm To save JD scrolling around, Thomas Frank heavy odds on favourite to replace Ange.

I couldn’t be arsed interviewing 20 managers, (plus all the others who he interviewed but didn’t appoint), never mind dealing with the compensation due.mentalcase wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 4:24 pm Well you know how tight Levy is, probably well pissed off at having to buy a tin of polish for the new silverware

You have Swannie, and he probably deserves a chance at a big club now, playing Champions League football.

Re: Premier League 25/26 Season
No surprise at all.
Tactics were suicidal for much of his time in charge, stubbornly refused to change for months on end.
Good to watch when it worked but rarely worked.
Dreadful Premier league record since November 2023 of 1.3ppg with an over 50% loss percentage
He just wasn't a very good manager.
Tbh I think he should be grateful, he can go out saying I won a trophy without it getting worse.

Re: Premier League 25/26 Season
The sacking of Big Ange is just another reminder that professional football doesn't make sense anymore.
What's the point in any team next season fielding any of their first team starters in any other competition other than the League as that is where you will be judged. What's the point in progressing to the latter stages of anything when winning it means so little. What's the point in finishing 6th to qualify for a competition you won't be taking seriously next season because it's a fools folly.
Football sold its soul a long time ago but now it seems much worse than that. Now the fans have bought into it as well and instead of protesting long into the night about the sacking of a successful manager they all agree it had to be done thus making glory meaningless.

Re: Premier League 25/26 Season
Maybe but plenty of Tottenham supporters saying he had to go as the league form was unacceptable. Doesn't matter if you make history as some would prefer to finish 6th it would seem.
Sorry but it's all arse about face whatever that means when football should be about glory and not league position. Unless you finish 1st of course which Spurs did back in 1961, so yes they do have a history of success but it was such a long time ago.
Finally it now seems there are only 2 competitions which are deemed worthy enough to be considered the Holy Grail. That's the PL title and the Champions League with everything else totally lacking in value now.

Re: Premier League 25/26 Season
You just have to look at our period under O'Leary. Some great league finishes, european nights etc but we failed to win a piece of silverware. Am sure most of us would have swapped a 3rd place finish for a trophy even if we had finishd 17th that season.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 12:17 pm Maybe but plenty of Tottenham supporters saying he had to go as the league form was unacceptable.
