Lukas Nmecha has agreed to join Leeds United from July 1st, becoming the first new arrival for Daniel Farke’s side this summer.

The German international can operate in a number of positions across the forward area and brings top-level experience to the Whites, as they prepare for a Premier League return.

After agreeing to join the club, Nmecha spoke exclusively to LUTV about why he decided Elland Road was the best place for his next move.

“It's just a great challenge and I'm really excited to get to know the team,” Nmecha explained.

“I've spoken with the manager many times and I'm excited to play that style of football that they played in the Championship, even in the Premier League.

“I saw that there was dominance last season in terms of possession and the goals. I'm an attacking player, so obviously that's exciting for me.

“Of course, in the Premier League, there's some big boys in there where you can't play like that all the time, but I think the idea of the manager is to play good football, possession football, and that's what I'm used to and what I love doing.

“I wish we could get going now, but we still have a few weeks of pre-pre-season, getting the runs in and all that! But, I just can't wait to start training now.”

And me too, Cussie.

A brilliant watch, a excellent summary to the end of our season.

Just watched this again.

One stunning finish after another, that lit up the 2024/25 championship.

No other club came close to bettering this array of goals.

Even the much maligned Aaronson took his chances well.

So..... Looks like we have a left back!

Considering we've lost 5 looks like we've kind of covered central defence and have replaced Firpo.

What other signings do we need?

For me we need to replace Solomon and Rothwell with prem ready players to break even.

I also think Byram won't cut it at prem now so think we definitely need a back up option for lwb/rwb. Talented youth signing?

We also need IMO a cm, gk, no10, striker of prem quality to give us a real chance of staying up?

Well we are getting there with the transfers I would say all we need is.

Gk
1 or 2 defensive players
2 attacking midfielders
1 striker .

The Athletic say he's the back up LB, which leaves one wondering what happens to Schmidt who's best position is LWB. I think Byram should be #3 at both full back positions

Brilliant news. Solid back up whether 2nd or 3rd choice and not a weakness if he ends up playing plenty of matches.

Looks like our defence is all sorted now.
I love leeds united, may I never admit to it. :shhh:
