Another player mentioned elsewhere is Anton Stach
A very experienced 26 year old German international.
Primarily a defensive midfielder but can play further forward.
And another giant

Is this from the WACCOE guy, he’s definitely got someone on the inside.

Imo,I am glad we have made some signings but I am really concerned about the quality of the team going forward rather than squad players we need defo starters rather than just squad players still need keeper,LB and an out and out quality striker to be in with a chance of staying up .

We weren't supposed to be making any signings until the 1st July, according to our board's statement a few weeks ago, Johnsie. It would seem we have already made three signings in June, two of them obviously squad back-up.Johnsie123 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 4:53 am Imo,I am glad we have made some signings but I am really concerned about the quality of the team going forward rather than squad players we need defo starters rather than just squad players still need keeper,LB and an out and out quality striker to be in with a chance of staying up .

Fair enough if that is where you are but personally, I think if the situation was still the same in the last week of July I would start to be concerned. The Board will stir the pot I think and we will see movement in the coming weeks.Johnsie123 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 4:53 am Imo,I am glad we have made some signings but I am really concerned about the quality of the team going forward rather than squad players we need defo starters rather than just squad players still need keeper,LB and an out and out quality striker to be in with a chance of staying up .

Good to see we've decided to bolster the centre of our defence because if you concede 60 or more goals in the PL you're in serious danger of going down.
7th Forest 46 (goal against)
9th Bournemouth 46 GA
10th Brentford 57 GA
11th Fulham 54 GA
12th Palace 51 GA
13th Everton 44 GA

You defend as a team and as Man City found out last night you can sign all the £50M defenders you like but if the organisation isn't there you will be vulnerable and those defenders get exposed just like the £5m ones.
Farke has a decision to make because for mid/lower table teams trying to have possession for possessions sake isn't currently working and the most effective tactic is the counter attack.

Re: 2025 Summer Transfer gossip and squad discussion (and manager)
I think we showed plenty of variety last season. We passed it around, for passing's sake, against teams who didn't come at us. Like cat and mouse we were trying to draw one or two players out of position so as to create gaps. We were also fine when teams pressed high and we counter attacked them through the pace on our wings. Rodon, Struyjk and Ampadu were all happy to knock a long ball centrally too but we were probably not really equipped for that with Piroe and Aaronsen unlikely to win many flick ons.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 10:19 am You defend as a team and as Man City found out last night you can sign all the £50M defenders you like but if the organisation isn't there you will be vulnerable and those defenders get exposed just like the £5m ones.

I never got the impression that we were committed to just one way, as Southampton were, but adapted to whatever the opposition did.

Yes, there were a couple of games after a slight wobble or cautious vs a rival, when we were quite defensive.weasel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 12:21 pm I think we showed plenty of variety last season. WBA (A) and Burnley (A) spring to mind.
There were other times our LB stayed at LB and allowed our RB to attack without any thought of being defensive - and vice versa
