Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 27th August) Not fit to wear the shirt
Darlow’s og getting very little air time. It was a bit of a shambles and had Mes done it, the forum would be on fire.
Had expected more from some of the new guys but most looked bang average. Bijol’s lack of pace and oil tanker turns were a particular low light.
On the upside Bornaux was quietly efficient though was never under too much pressure.
Hopefully DCL will impact as Piroe seems to be struggling to make the step up to PL.
The window has a few days left in it. Here’s hoping we can get a signing and a loan to give us some better options up front.

Yes there's a positive Andrewandrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 12:43 pm I thought Bijol had a really awkward game. But I'm not going to judge him on his first start
Harrison was my pick yesterday. Thought he was one of the few, probably the only one that seemed up for it. He adds some useful versatility to the squad. Will probably spend most of the season on the bench, But his ability to play a couple of positions does make him useful.

Likely referring to Burnley
2 top 10 finishes with Burnley on one of the smallest budgets is pretty impressive tbf.

It's a matter of time until Piroe is replaced, Farke is trying all sorts with him, he has a couple more starts tops, and unless he finds his playing boots he'll be on the bench if not sold to fund some last minute arrival.
He can turn that around by playing out of his skin, let's see.

I won a £100, on a £10 bet that there would be an own goal during the gamePullhard wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 1:08 pm Darlow’s og getting very little air time. It was a bit of a shambles and had Mes done it, the forum would be on fire.

Can anyone explain what position Piroe was playing last night, as he did not look comfortable

Plenty of undeserving players have caps . . ..
We agree on much but not this.
DCL is at best a bang average Premier League striker and below average goalscorer
Nice lad apparently though

Yeah possibly, but the whole idea of replacing Farke after a week in the Pl is pretty far fetched.

There may be a universe somewhere where a cardboard cut out has a record of 3 Championship Titles in 5 seasons managing in that Division but it certainly isn't true in this version of reality. There will be other seasons for cup runs but this season there has to be a laser focus on survival in the League just as we didn't need distractions last season which was all about promotion. I believe there will be a couple more signings , I hope DCL gets up to speed quickly ( the fact that he got to a couple of chances is promising) and that JH morphs into the new Dallas. It should also be remembered that the last 2 games have been in the shadow of losing Ampadu and that last season when he was out there was a period of adjustment to his absence. Gruev , Stach and Longstaff will need to gel together quite quickly as there was a lack of fluidity last night which was a major part of the problem .

Managers with the best players have a much better chance of promotion.ruttermania wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 2:07 pm There may be a universe somewhere where a cardboard cut out has a record of 3 Championship Titles in 5 seasons managing in that Division but it certainly isn't true in this version of reality. This is where he'll earn his keep, with the ball on the other foot.

Ouch, after missing the game entirely (not even looking for any of it now) and catching up here and other social media, I'm relieved i did.
Hoping this brings another couple through the door.

Re: The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Wednesday 27th August) Not fit to wear the shirt
Strangely enough I didn't fancy any of our penalty takers to score either. It was just that sort of night and as shown by my pre-match Positives and Negatives comment I wasn't at all shocked by the performance or result. It is what we do and have been doing for many years.White Lotus wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 11:20 am The penalties were quite funny though Weasel, i actually felt every single one of our players missing as they walked up believe it or not, especially after Piroe missed his..
I thought :
Piroe - "He's missing this, it feels like he knows it too"
Then DCL - I thought "this isn't going in, i can just feel it because it's supposed to be a cert"
Then Longstaff - I thought "he shouldn't be on this, he's trying to make up for being off it all night, looks nervous"
Bang Bang Bang - Rows Z, F and P![]()
I also correctly guessed which way all the Sheff Wed penalties were going, Am taking my gloves down to ER on Saturday and might just get a game in goal for us again.

I think it's called a False 10. False as in he doesn't actually do anything.Ellandback1 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 2:03 pm Can anyone explain what position Piroe was playing last night, as he did not look comfortable
