Currently 15th which is about what we deserve.
But thats why misses like Aaronson’s will be the difference.
That would’ve turned the game.

I am happy with 17th. This season was always going to be a struggle, as far as I can recall no one thought otherwise. In a season that you are looking to finish 17th there will be shite results. If there wasn’t you would likely be finishing a few places higher.

What is happening thus far matches my season expectations. I just think some people over react at just about every opportunity. It turns doommongers feeding frenzy on here. It was the same last season also. Football is a game that psychologically has a habit of kicking you in the face, I am surprised with the amount of kickings we get folk are not used to it by now.

This was always a game where the first goal was crucial, going behind was the worse situation for us given our leave of creativity and propensity to get caught on the break as we push forward and try to force it..

But hand on heart do you honestly believe that Burnley are better than us ? If not, do you believe Sunderland are better than us, then there is. Wolves, West Ham and then there is forest.
My optimism is not based purely on our performances but the teams around us.

However, as I have already quoted, lose at home to West Ham, regardless of whether we miss three penalties and have two huge ref mistakes, there is a good chance there will be a reckoning, which will probably spell the end of Farke.
It's all academic, as Sunderland are 7th and we're 15th as it stands. They've clearly recruited well regardless of the Burnley result, as they're starting to click. We don't have the quality or depth for that to happen it's fact.

It is not just that we lost, we had 60+% of the ball but failed to score. How many chances do we need to score and win games.
Leeds need to bring in a midfielder who can score goals and a decent number 9 in Jan 2027.

Also Harrison’s first effort. Could’ve taken a touch maybe. Farke will be worried as he knows a goalscorer would’ve meant at least 3 more points over the 8 games so far.

Well we place your suggested fact into the Overman fact register for future consideration. I have book marked this page. You do only seem to turn up when there is a forum Wake. You are not a grave digger by any chance ?

Farke needs to get Aaronson, Harrison & Struijk out of his head.

Harrison looks like a busted flush. Everytime he had the ball he wanted to get rid of it as quickly as possible. His head has well and truly gone, even if he did set up Aaronson nicely.

Tough situation for Farke, the fecker is on a lot of money.

Farke needs to stop favouring the three players I mentioned above.

Liabilities comes to mind.

They all earn a lot of money though.
I’d expect the Aaronson effort to be buried at least 19 out of 20 times.
I dont expect Farke to be here much longer. Thats not what I want, far from it but its the most likely scenario.
The WH game is going to be pivotal for him.

What's your issue with Struijk? I think he's been mostly solid.

So exactly who should he pick, and who do they replace?

What should he do differently in training and on matchday?

I can’t wait to hear your tactical master plan.

He is not blessed with Options. Striujk played a poor pass that Walker intercepted, leading to a break away. The goal did not come until after a further two phases of play. I don’t understand how the finger is pointed at him personally.

I accept it was a poor pass, but we were trying to force it looking for an equaliser.

Whilst it was a good strike I thought Darlow could have done better than he did. Those are the types of saves that keep a team in a game and can turn the tide. We are just missing those movements of inspiration for me.

You make it sound as if we have a bench full of proven premier league players who would obviously make all the difference. Whilst I suspect he will change things a bit against west ham - maybe bijol for struik and James, nmecha and piroe for Aaronson, Harrison and DCL, I'm not convinced any of these will make a significant difference in either our creativity or conversion rate in front of goal. I think most of us thought that we would struggle after the limited activity at the back end of the transfer window. The quality just isn't there in the squad so all farke can do is shuffle his pack to hopefully find the best combination. To be fair he has done that reasonably successfully over the first 7 matches ( at least in terms of performances) so let's give him a chance to get things right again.

Come the end of the season, our primary liability may well be having 3 strikers who can’t score.

I dont feel negative. Not yet at least. If people looked at our results a bit more closely they may think the same. Bournemouth, Fulham and to a lesser extent today do not suggest (at least to me) that we are as bad as some people think. Well unless you think 15-17 is bad.

17th is grand JD, and hopefully we’ll get there. We’re still on a point a game, so on track.

But cracks are starting to show, we don’t have the squad to mix things up much at this point, and we ain’t getting much return out of December.

Not all relegated teams have been awful, many have been competitive at times but lacked quality on the pitch or off the pitch or both to make the difference in the end.

West Ham takes on greater importance given the fixtures we have coming up.

Despite the positives performances I Hope these dropped points don't become an issue.

And conceding 1st in 6 of 8 games is not a habit we want to continue either.

Both Fulham and Tottenham should have been beat on chances.... Less so with Tottenham but think we had a far better overall game but when you have a striker brought in who is not only the most consistently injured player in prem history over 3 seasons who wasn't know for his killer conversion ratio even when he was younger I'm not sure what you expect. You cannot have a striker at this level and expect to survive who misses 5 xg in 8 games.

Nothing on farke....

Mostly on Orta for loading us with high earning crap players, Adam Underwood's lack of guile in the window just gone (first job leading recruitment.... In the prem 😂).

Aarronsson should be on 3 goals isn't..... Can't convert even to championship standard..... Hard worker but not a prem player and struggles in championship. Surprising considering he was pretty low scoring while in the famous austrian league. Why wouldn't he be able to do it in prem?

Meslier.... Should of been sold before we went down last time for big money wasn't.

Harrison given a huge contract by the fat controller (same as Bamford) when its clear as day from his data you sell whenever his purple patch comes and upgrade. Predictably s**t for Everton.... Will be the same for us. Two chances on a plate today... Neither took. Let's not talk about his crossing pace or creativity.

Struijk is another one..... We should sell while young with big potential hype around him as he switches off so much and always has..... Today second goal was all him starting with the lazy pass for the counter and finishing with him not closing a player down taking a shot. I think he is a great player with a key weakness in concentration in key moments which I don't think you can have in prem at cb or gk bit like meslier in that respect.

We have around 7 prem level players and a mixture of mid champ level players or below.... We've also got a quality striker in piroe who I just don't think fits with this league unfortunately, no pace and can't win headers and get us up the pitch.

You need to have a durable squad and we're no where near it.... Always an injury away from a crisis.
