I don't know if it's annoyance or disappointment but they portrayed themselves as this slick outfit.
To me they come across a bit amateur.
Everything done on a wing and a prayer.
Jobs given not to the best person they can find just the next man up.
Medical executives, academy coaches, tech guys, NFL accountants.
All holding senior positions at a football club , no real background or qualifications for it but they knew the right people

Are you sure? What mess?Pullhard wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 2:45 pm I’m certainly not angry.
Underwhelmed a bit though.
They inherited a shambles. We were in a total mess after Radz and Orta did their thing.
49ers did a good job to steady the ship and get promoted. They seem measured. I don’t have enough insight to know how good or bad the back room team are.
Not landing one of the priority target strikers in the window could bite us badly. That was definitely on the recruitment team and the board.

I've gone 50%. The recruitment side was a shambles, hopefully they'll have learned some lessons and will do better going forward.
But even if we get relegated they may not change much as I think they're playing a long commercial game, and for them a bit of short-term yoyo-ing might well be a price worth paying.
Fans are not interested in the long view, we want everything now, and won't get it. We can moan, protest, despair of the failings on the pitch, but it doesn't make a blind bit of odds. The 49ers will do the ER upgrade to maximise revenue streams and when it's complete they'll get us back into the PL if need be and the fans will be back in droves.
That's when our future is most likely to take a turn for the better as they'll then be focused on expanding the brand globally and will need success on the pitch to do it.
That's my take on it, so maybe 5 years.
Meanwhile it's all just pissing against the wind.

Not sure you're correct there 1964.
The January window we were relegated we recruited Rutter for a reported £35M, McKennie on loan with an obligation to buy for £35M and then Wober for £12M. Then in addition the plug was pulled on the Harrison transfer to Leicester which would have recouped £20M as it was thought he would assist in keeping us up.
Now how much of that was decided by the 49ers we don't know but some investment to try and retain our PL status was there.

A bit of a freak recruitment occurrence in January for a Leeds board .Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 9:50 pm Not sure you're correct there 1964.

Poor signings in an attempt to avoid relegation though.
Georginio was nowhere near ready for PL football & as a consequence hardly featured.
McKennie was a disappointing fat unfit signing.
Wober to be fair did OK in those final games.

Rome was not built in a day. Look back to the GFH days - they sold up in 2016 - and where we are now - and I say we are slowly moving in the right direction. Even look at that fantastic first season in the Premiership with Bielsa and how we started to sink after that. Radrizzani undid and started to wreck all the good stuff that had happened. So from that point we are working our way back and have no doubts its is a slog.
I have voted 10% disappointment on that basis. Still a lot of work to be done

Depends who you ask on this forum. For me Radz was the chairman and majority owner. Ultimately any decisions made on the running of the club are down to him.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 14, 2025 9:50 pm Not sure you're correct there 1964.

I voted 20% disappointment. I understand that they were left with a financial MESS from previous ownership. And that it will actually take another season or so to finish cleaning it up. Their job is to keep the club on sound financial footing. But we've made it back to the Premier League. And it would be very disappointing to go back down to the Championship! Which is why I think now is the time for a change in Manager. Because I do believe we have enough talent in our squad to survive. Not to thrive, but to survive. But they need the right touch.

After the gobshites we had before them I'm pleased that they seem to have brought some stability to the club and we don't hear too much from them (except for the doing deals in my sleep statement).
Having said that they were too cautious in the last window. Other clubs have got away with splashing the cash even if it risked a few points deduction.
The risk/reward game is a difficult one to play when it is investor's money that you are promising a return on.
They are above the last four sets of owners at the moment.

Best three things about the Rads/Orta partnership
1. Promotion after 16 years of lower league hell
2. Marcelo Bielsa and Bielsaball
3. Raphinha
Best three things about the Niners
Promotion after 2 years in lower league hell, I guess.
Erm

Not sure what it is that you don't understand? I agree with your best 3 things about the Rads/Orta tenure. But they put the club in a real bind with some of the idiotic player contracts. Particularly the stupid relegation clauses that were given to players. You can't deny that left us scrambling the last two season. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 5:58 pm I don't understand that at all ... Still winner writes the history I guess however innacurate.

As you have said, the 49ers got us back up after 2 years. They have been cleaning up a significant financial mess. And they have a stadium plan. And yet you and others are ready to write them off as failures? I don't understand your thinking on this. But it feels like pure emotion! And that's not how you should conduct business.

Not much point arguing over the past. No one wins that argument. Hopefully the 49ers make the best decisions for the future.

That the Niners inherited a mess..they didn't, they inherited a premiership football team they had a big hand in taking down.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 7:42 pm Not sure what it is that you don't understand? Re: How disappointed/angry are you with the 49ers? - Poll of the Day (14th Nov)
The team was relegated under Radrizzani/Orta. The contracts were all structured under Radrizzani/Orta. And they got us relegated. The 49ers THEN completed the takeover of the club and took control on July 17, 2023. And THEY had to clean up the mess. So no, the 49ers did not inherit a Premier League football team. They inherited a team that had been relegated to the Championship. Those are the facts! The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 7:58 pm That the Niners inherited a mess..they didn't, they inherited a premiership football team they had a big hand in taking down.

Niners had 40 percent of the club and very likely, considering they overruled the Harrison sale more power than that, because the sale was coming. The niners did as much to take us down as Rads/Orta, there's was likely the Gracia/Alladyce signings. We know Orta did not want to sack Marsch that late in the proceedings. And I agreed with that, I think we're getting too late to sack Farke tbh..BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 9:08 pm The team was relegated under Radrizzani/Orta. Re: How disappointed/angry are you with the 49ers? - Poll of the Day (14th Nov)
I think we have to be realistic on the level of annoyance. Remember these investment groups like the 49ers have injected millions into Leeds United and sometimes we only see the instant results and not whats going on behind the scenes. As a massive group they have committed to an investment in Leeds and its in their interests to see returns. Bearing in mind they see the same results as us their investment is under threat and plans to expand Elland Road and other projects will come to a holt if we don't achieve the goal of staying in the Prem. I am disappointed in our own management team that have failed to get the players in the door, clear out the deadwood and get a return on our outlay. Our fate is in the hands of management that don't seem to realise that time is ticking away and action is needed to change the current status of the club. Its not going to be the 49ers fault but our stupity for intrusting our fate to bunch of suits that can't hack it when the real problems are upon them.

So you are speculating that the MINORITY owners had all the power. That's an interesting take Bro!!The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 9:47 pm Niners had 40 percent of the club and very likely, considering they overruled the Harrison sale more power than that, because the sale was coming. If they didn't then Harrison gets sold and Marsch stays. I think it's naive to think owners like the Niners wouldn't have final say the second they got 40%. especially as they we're going full buy out in a few months.BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sat Nov 15, 2025 10:29 pm So you are speculating that the MINORITY owners had all the power.
