Yes!

Wouldn't be susprised if he reverts back to the 4-3-3 formation.

Yes, he should but would be something of a surprise if he did. We have the players for that set-up, as the second half against City showed, so why not go for it in a game which we all see as something of a free hit?

I have been saying for weeks he should be playing 5-3-2 or 3-5-2. A blind man could see the formation he has us playing wasn't working.

Chelsea play with 2 wide players and just the one striker so the wide players would push our wing backs all the way back and our three centre halves would be marking space.

Maybe 4-5-1 would be better.

Gone for 5-3-2/3-5-2 yes.

If he does revert back to 4-3-3, has Okafor, DCL or Nmecha and James started together?
It would mean going slightly longer with Bogle and Gudmundsson supplying a longer diagonal to DCL or Nmecha for them to flick on or hold up to Okafor and James if they were more narrow so they were nearer to him with their pace.
The midfield could stay more solid so we don’t get stretched and Bogle and Gudmundsson don’t have to overlap as frequently.
It’s not the best to watch but short term I could live with it.

Why not? Against top 4 teams we can’t play out from the back - literally - so hoofing it up to DCL is probably the best option.

It means they can’t play a permanent high press.

Chelsea are incisive in the final third, I can’t see having an extra man at the back as a negative.

Can we we adopt a 2-6-5-2 formation in the hope of a point or 3
2 keepers and some extra players would be very handy !

Definitely worth a shot but the reason we nearly beat City was due to catching them completely unawares by the change in formation ( Pep was probably in shock that Farke had made subs before 70 mins but one touchline chat and normal service resumed ) but if we start with 5-3-2 then better teams and managers will soon suss us out.
What we were doing wasn’t working so go for it.

I'm on a number of Leeds related WhatsApp groups and pretty much most of the formation chatter has been about playing Wingbacks.

Second half against Citee we played that with DCL and Nmecha upfront, which I think we should go with whatever formation we play, and we were on the whole the better team, we have the players to play that way - Bogel, Gudmundsson and Justin are all capable of playing it.

But I think Farke will revert to type, he pretty much said this in his post match and 100% Aaronson will be back 😬

Made this point in the summer.

Both Nuno and Thomas Frank switched to a back 3 upon promotion (Nuno a few unsuccessful games in and Frank immediately).

And it worked.

If you stumble across something successful even for a brief spell the logical thing to do is imo stick to it.

But given how DF is and how weirdly he wanted to play down how well a tactical change worked after the game I expect him to go back to his way.

Yes - but can we play it for 90 mins - what options on the two up top do we have for it to be effective across a full game

He SHOULD stick to a 5-3-2 or 3-5-2 depending on the opponent. But he won't.

Just thinking, switching to a regular 352/532 might reduce the need to spend so much in January.

We wouldn’t need the right winger or creative 10 so much, just the secondary striker (Parrott) to play off DCL.

I would like to see one of DCL/Nmecha playing alongside or just ahead of Joel Piroe. Especially against the weaker teams in the division. We really need to find a way to make use of his goal scoring ability!

I think Gnonto is the best footballer at the club and needs to start most games. Only we could waste that kind of quality
