As I mentioned previously, from all the sporting events I’ve been to (and I’ve done a lot) F1 is by far the best I’ve been to.

Absolutely amazing it is.
That's very interesting.

Have never been so perhaps you could try to describe what was so special about F1 live and at the track please ? Think in the future I might try and do somewhere like Singapore but then again it's so bloody expensive and especially so on a race weekend.

Blimey, where do I start.

We went to Monza, we’d read a lot about how the whole place goes mental when the F1 is there for the weekend. They weren’t wrong, it was absolutely crackers. Everywhere you looked, it was F1 themed (even the Pizzas).

We went to the Ferrari shop and they had Schumachers old car there, and you could actually sit in it. I’m getting emotional now typing these words, honestly, what an experience.

Then there’s the actual weekend at Monza. We didn’t go to the practice sessions (even though it was included in the package) but we went to qualifying.

As for race day itself, Mental. Helicopters flying in celebrities, the stalls selling merchandise, the list goes on and on.

We were at Parabolica, so we got some good views of the drivers parade, the cars going round and the smell. That smell is sensational.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. My wife is disabled now, so it’s not something we would do again, but christ what a weekend that was.

A good few years ago, I worked for a company delivering and installing Phtocopiers, cash machines etc... We went to the Jordan establishment at Silverstone several times. They had several cars that they had saved, Michaels was one, and so was Damons... We were allowed to try and sit in them....... We were both too big though...
Hopelessly lost.................. But making good time

Thanks for that and it does sound like an amazing experience so I'd love to give it go sometime.

My brother in law did his first season in Boxter racing., did ok with a 9th and a 10th place finish in a car not as good as others. He loves it, bought a massive enclosed trailer for the Boxter and as a race weekend office..

First race he spun off in practice and damaged the car for the weekend so no racing, second weekend saw him hit by a car that lost it, also in practice....

This was a tough weekend but he finished

Looks like Red Bull Racing and going to demote Liam Lawson after only two races. I had my concerns at the start of the season but Red Bull are ruthless in their decision making. Is it the car? Lawson was struggling with the balance and there seems to be a short window to get the best out of the car, step outside the cars operating zone and it bites you big time. The other problem is Max getting the Red Bull up in the top 4 because the guy can adapt quickly to the poor handling, twitchy and temperamental balance. Liam is unlucky imo, his style of driving just doesn't fit with the Red Bull. Lets hope he does well in Racing Bull Team, its not the end of the world but its probably the best solution at this time... Over to Tsunoda

Look at those conditions, surprised they all did so well.

Can only imagine what it’s like to actually be in one of those cars, brilliant stuff.

Must've been amazing Barlow. Thanks for sharing that.
I remember my dad taking me to the South African GP at Kyalami - I must have been about 12. My main memory was the sound of the Alfa's going down the main straight and then breaking into the first corner - almost burst your eardrums - was wonderful.

It's a surprise it's so quick, but to be honest I was surprised Lawson was chosen over Yuki to start the season.
He is talented, but being teammate to the multiple time world champion is real pressure for a driver relatively unseasoned to F1.
Yuki has earned his stripes, racing less than competitive cars, but has shown his ability now in the more pacy Racing Bulls.

Lawson also - imo - needs to lose some attitude. Relative to a couple of the other rookies - Antonelli in particular - he's a bit 'full of it'. Nice kid, but needs some coaching.

In a way maybe better for Lawson to be a bit more out of the spotlight - not having to be in the pit next to Max.
Hope he proves himself and succeeds long term.

If I was Tsunoda before getting into the car and committing to a contract that could have huge implications on your career. Can I take the Red Bull out for a test drive? It makes sense to me, if the Red Bull handles like a bus and has little tolerance for any kind of mistakes, its best to try it out before pinning your flag to the Red Bull name.. Lawson, Perez are not not bad drivers, something else is definitely going on that Max can handle but the rest just experience and then go WTF is gong here???

Yes, Music it does seem the Red Bull is struggling for balance. Funny how its their first season without Newey Hmmm :duno:

Watching the interviews after last week's spring race, Max said the only way he'd win was if the Mclarens, Ferraris and Mercedes had to retire. When asked why he said the car just wasn't there yet - balance all out of whack by what he was saying. It must have pace because he did manage a couple of fastest laps in the race - just a brute to get it to go where you want it to. Maybe that's a blessing for Yuki - "well if Max cant get it to go fast, what hope do I have ...."?

But Yuki has been driving cars like that for the last 5 seasons. I was sceptical of him at first, but I must say he has stuck with it and he must be rated by the teams as he keeps getting a drive.

Max did say he felt that Liam and Yuki had similar pace when in similar cars.

But for me, right now, the next star is Antonelli. He doesn't seem intimidated being next to Boy George :)

Lets see what happens when Tsunoda experiences his first practise session with the Red Bull. As for Lawson he should see the positives in the situation, there are two other drivers on the grid that have experienced the same thing ( Albon - Gasley) and they have recovered and are doing well for their new teams. You could actually have a situation where the guy you just dropped out qualifies your new choice... The racing bulls are good cars...... If Lawson is any good he will want to prove them all wrong.....

Good point a out Albon and Gasly.

I wonder if they made the change a bit sooner than maybe planned as the next race weekend is Yuki's home track??

It's really nice to see a narrower gap between the top 4 teams and a few of the others. As you say, the RBs and even the Williams are quite competitive.
I reckon the Astons will quietly get a few points as well. The ever canny Alonso can always sneak into the points. And it seems Stroll has a way of extending the life of his tyres so they seem to leave him out longer (maybe because he's not as fast :roflmao: ).

After today's announcement from Red Bull Formula 1 team to drop Yuki Tsunoda in favour of Hadjar for 2026. There is nothing wrong with Yuki at all imo, he is a very quick driver that once again has failed to get to grips with the Red Bull car that has its balance firmly at the front and is a beast to drive. Yuki will be able to recover and go on to better things but its a long list of drivers that seem to arrive at the Red Bull team and instantly are set up to fail. Maybe Hadjar, a very quick driver will be different but its a tough task imo. In the meantime I can see Yuki moving over to Indy Car and he will do extremely well...

Boring race though, most races this season have been a snoozefest. 😴

Yes it was a bit boring, was hoping for downpour of rain or a routine safety car to shake things up a bit. No chance, not even a puff of smoke out the back of the McClaren. Still there are two guys happy for different reasons Lando for winning his first World Drivers Title and Lewis Hamilton who couldn't wait for the race to fininsh... :)

Was reading the new rules for 2026 and it looks not all that great on the surface.
Cars are going to be lighter and greater percentage of battery to engine will be introduced.
The worst part is the auto aerodynamics package that will adjust according the situation of the car. Drafting will be gone as the advantage to the car behind is deemed unfair. Just looking at this on a basic level it means the team with the best engine will have a big advantage, the driver and his input will not have as much impact on the race, which takes away why cars race and the drivers unique ability to pass other cars. I have mentioned this before that Formula 1 is going down a road that relies too much on technology and not enough driver skill and probability. Take a look at Indy Car, just recently the Indy 500 took place, there was 12 drivers that could have won the race but speed, strategy , driver ability came through... This is racing......
