Hindsight makes experts of us all, but the failings of this tour began long ago.
It's not hindsight if you said it before the test series started

Flummoxed me this morn. Seen the headline on BBC saying England bowled out for 110. Didn't read any more.
Put on the test from the start and the Aussies were batting. Took a while to realise they had also been bowled out.
Poor wicket for a test match, but we are still in it. Interesting day tomorrow.

Definitely a green top the state of the wicket is very poor.
The ball a few times not carrying to the keeper or slips.

Still horrible batting... 2 day test again

That wicket in England would see the county deducted points assuming it was just not really bad batting from both teams

Worrying. The boxing day test in the Ashes is probably the pinnacle test match in world cricket. Why allow it to turn into a 2 day pantomime?

2 losers on this tour now. England and test cricket.

Maybe we should go to three day tests, 100 over max for first innings

There would be a lot of draws.

Nothing wrong with test matches the way they are as the series v India showed.

Hard to believe that the groundsman , who had months to get a decent pitch prepared, managed to get it so wrong.
Gonna cost a lot of money for the balls up.

I was really looking forward to the Ashes this year. But its frankly been diabolical, going from amateurish to second rate and back again.

On the basis of this farce, these are nowhere near the 2 best test teams in the world - England in particular - they need to throw out the script and start again.

Sorry, test cricket should last for more than 2 days. This is not professional wrestling.

Very, very disappointing.

Over 93 000 people on the 1st day would give a good case for that.

Yes perhaps but undoubtedly they checked in full of expectation hoping to see two heavyweights slugging it out. Instead they were served up with something of a knockabout match.

OK it was a dodgy wicket to play on and somewhere somehow somone got the preparation all wrong. However, what has been on show is an Australian team missing key players against an England team that looks and behaves like its turned up for a bit of a jolly. I wonder if all of the 93,000 would keep coming back over and over again, paying good money to watch these sorts of proceedings.

It's been very far from the best of Ashes series

Melbourne and Perth cricket grounds will be majorly p*ssed off. They have just lost a key source of income for this year.
Not to mention the city centre pubs and restaurants.
