The same hoards that stayed away before Bielsa ?
Sorry but I fail to see these fans forking out for a season ticket without any chance of some glory. Not having a go at anyone BTW, just that I see this as fact
I did ask one of our regular members, where have all these fans come from on our full 53 seater coach yesterday.
We used to attract 35 to 40 passengers in the championship last season.
During the lean 2004–2018 years, we were lucky to have 23 on board.

Who mentioned season tickets? I think the 49ers realise they'll make more money from single match tickets in the future - visiting fans buy more, spend more.
Half of Norway would be there every week.
There were 52000 Leeds fans in Dublin in July for a friendly.

It's only the third time ER has been full to capacity this season.
Only the hardened supporters remain to applaud our players off the pitch after the game.
Yes it's very strange how you can have such a long waiting list for tickets, yet empty seats most weeks. Maybe need to look at the current ticket sales system, if tickets being handed back to the club are not resold.

I mentioned season tickets as that's the waiting list number the club keep quoting.
That's definitely how it feels now, the club would rather sell tickets to different people each week, I think they would even cancel season tickets if they thought they could get away with it, just my opinion with the tone of some of the emails I receive.
52000 in Dublin was fantastic and that's great, but it was a celebration of getting vack to the Premier League, it was a one off, that's not happening everyother week

Fair comment - the basic point I was making originally is that those fans lucky enough to be able to get to ER every other week sometimes forget that there are hundreds of thousands of Leeds fans who are never able to go as things stand at the moment.
I don't think the owners will lose out by expanding the capacity.

Exactly. Plus there's also school kids and the next generation. Provided they don't all "support" Citeh and Liverpool.

Yes, we cannot upset the Yanks
Boils my blood that one, I wonder what they thought yesterday when a good few hundred walked out on about 75 minutes
Would never do that myself, but it does make you wonder about the wisdom of all the big plans to expand the stadium to 55k.
If we're not constantly in the top ten of the Premier League who's going to fill it.
The trouble with the financial rules is that to spend money on the team the club needs to generate more money. No shortcuts by buying our way to glory and then building up the stadium. Spending money on the stadium doesn't count against how much a club can spend so the logic is that we say increase the capacity by 15,000 and likely we generate 50% or more income on matchday. Even at say £50 per ticket that is £750,000 extra per home match. 19 home matches, lets also add an additional one for a home cup tie (I know that's not gonna happen but makes the maths simpler to say 20 home games) so that is an extra £15m each year that we can spend on players. Now chances are though that by increasing the capacity we are able to have more of the corporate seats etc that cost more. As such that then maybe makes it £1m per home game and £20m per year.
Also a bigger stadium means we maybe get an international game or host other events, as Cjay alluded to. That could add further millions into the coffers.
Whilst not a huge amount in footballing terms these days it is still a substantial amount. It is all then the knock on effect. Maybe that extra spending allows us to push up a couple of places in the league bringing in more 'prize' money. Maybe we go a bit deeper in the cup, bringing in more money. So it hopefully then builds and builds. However we are realistically at the start of a long process and it likely will be baby steps.

I've pretended to support a team that's been crap for most of my life as part of a long term plan

Fair play for being a season ticket holder John but there’s no way tickets aren’t sold for home games. Try buying a ticket through the membership and there could be 30,000+ people before you in the queue and they’re gone in minutes then there’s the ballot which could be the same.
I tried the ticket site for one ticket right up to Thursday for yesterdays game and there wasn’t one seat available, the only reason I can see for empty seats at home matches are corporate seats handed out to clients who never had any intention of going or season ticket holders not making their ticket available for resale.
As I said before we booked flights & hotel for the upcoming Sunderland game but lost the flights due to the match being rescheduled and we’re now booked to fly into Manchester and get the bus/train up then the same home again on Wednesday with no guarantee of a match ticket.
If any of our wonderful members had 2 tickets available I’d be more than happy to pay for them.

The hoards of Leeds fans who don't live in Leeds and have no access to tickets at present.
I live in France and every time I visit the UK I make sure I go to Leeds on matchday. I have never been able to book a ticket in advance or even buy Hospitality tickets. Always on a waiting list

I am a My Leeds member and live in Scotland. I get down as often as I can afford it - it costs me about £600 a visit with hotels and travel. And I can be flexible, unlike the poor guys from across the water who get shafted by airlines on game day.
For the Scum game my lowest queue number was above 33k. For Arsenal it was 17k.
EDIT: to prove your point for Fulham my quaue number was 77!
I was boiling yesterday at seeing empty seats, and haven’t cooled down much today.
The guy that prints out the shirt names didn't have the o with the cross through it anyway.
Probably best he goes to London, would be laugh if Glasner stuck him in the bench just to annoy the board.
Palace aren't exactly safe on present form....
I wonder if he has a relegation clause?
