Anyone seen the new Aston Martin for 2026. Its a work of art from Adrian Newy. The only problem is it Stroll proof...

I doubt it - silly little w**ker - and that's coming from a fellow Canadian.Musicman1965 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 03, 2026 8:10 pm Anyone seen the new Aston Martin for 2026. Its a work of art from Adrian Newy. The only problem is it Stroll proof...![]()
If they had a decent young driver - someone like Hadjar or Antonelli, with Alonso being able to mentor him in the second car, they may well get somewhere. But Lance Stroll has proved he is unteachable.
BTW - if you haven't read Newey's book - "How to build a car" - I highly recommend it.

Formula 1 is Back for 2026 Any Predictions?????
4 Days to go before the start of the new Formula 1 season.
With the lack of information on the cars and reports of teams hiding the cars perfromance its a bit of a lottery
who will win the Drivers Title and which Constructor will come out on top.
Are Aston Martin so bad ?
Russell is talking a good game and deflecting his chances?
Lewis is not moaning ...give it time he will.......
This year I am going for Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, just because he gets on with the job and is there or there abouts with a good car.
I reckon there is going to be big changes in the lead for constructors as teams get to grips with the strategy of battery and engine delivery.... Its going to close but Mercedes is my pick for constructors.

I’m going Verstappen.
I’m no expert on the sport, far from it, but as I understand it the drivers will have a lot more control and responsibility so I am expecting Verstappen to be up there as he is, certainly, one of the best drivers on the planet

Re: Formula One
Obviously Mercedes will be most people’s favourite, especially with Antonelli doing so well last season. He, and Russell, could be a formidable partnership.
Red Bull will struggle until they get a good understudy to Max. I’m not convinced Hadjar is the answer.
Can McLaren repeat last year’s heroics?, doubtful for me.
So, I’d go with Ferrari, purely on the basis the team as a whole will consistently pick up points, which is what’s needed to win a Constructors Championship, rather than the individualistic Drivers Championship.

We’ve got family staying with us this week. The weather is glorious… and what are they doing? Sat indoors watching training, or practice or whatever it’s called. Boring, boring boring.

One of my best sporting event experiences was Monza for the F1.
Fantastic weekend, with real racing cars on show

Re: Formula One
Mercedes look so strong in the Aussie GP but Ferrari would have been alot closer if they had got the strategy right and stopped earlier.
Piastri joins an elite group that have crashed on the warm up lap... oh dear.....
Aston Martin are in big trouble, Caddies are slow. Only one race and all can change in an instant....

Verstappen was unlucky in Qualifying, expecting him to be up there at the season end.Musicman1965 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 1:01 pm Mercedes look so strong in the Aussie GP but Ferrari would have been alot closer if they had got the strategy right and stopped earlier.

Yes I agree, hopefully Red Bull have sorted out the brake problem so no more unexpected dramas.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2026 1:04 pm Verstappen was unlucky in Qualifying, expecting him to be up there at the season end.
On a side note, never been a fan of battery packs, you hear all sorts of reports about volitile they can be. These guys
are going flat out with a battery pack underneath them... not the way Formula One should be really imo.

Re: Formula One
After George Russell compleed a dominant win at the Aussie Grand Prix he is now bleating about how the reat of the teams are getting a better start than he is. This is wrapped up under the banner of safety and not the fact that his car is not capable of getting away off the line as quick. He then sites that cars that are quicker could cause an accident while passing, well hasn't it always been like this, wait for the lights to go out and floor it and sod the rest around you. After years of tolerating Lewis we have a new pretender to the throne of bleating and moaning. Smoke him off the line guys and let the bleating begin

Another win for George in the Sprint but beaten to the poll by Antonelli.
Ferrari looking more competative this year.

It is all rather scale electric now. Lots of button pushing - the spirit of racing has been lost for me.
I get the need to move with the times and for the sustainability and greener focus, but they transport all this gear around the world in big jets.
It has a minuscule effect on the carbon footprint.
