Very nice, new album from Ratboys and it's a cracker. Might have slipped past Blackwater Holylight into the lead for AOTY ..early days

Vocals might not be great for some but I love 'em

And I'll stick this here whilst here, will be an acquired taste and probably ignored but wonderful instrumentation underscores some down beat almost spoken vocals. Lyrically interesting too

Bill Callahan aka Smog

Have dipped into those you've posted above, SH.

The Bill C and AH didn't do it for me at all.

The Ratboys was OK, but of the four I thought the SJ came out on top, by a margin.

Personally, have had 'Spellbinder!' from The Third Mind, on rotation this week.

Diversity is the key to choice, when it comes to music imo.
Thats why we should celebrate the achievements of a band called "Sparks"
Yes they created probably one of the best songs that ever charted in This Town isn't Big Enough for the Both of Us"
But they go off on a journey that sees them cover A Man Without a Tan to a song about a Backpack.
While some may think their music is not all that great, well lets face it they surprise you everytime..
Thank god we still have this. Its not pitch perfect, it's wild and unpredictable thats why its great.

The genres of music have been reduced as less people find the time to make an effort to discover bands or singers that offer something new. We are spoon fed pitch perfect junk from fast buck tv talent scouts that churn out the same over and over. The one area of pure music is left which is untouched by these jackals is the amercian country. Now we all know the jokes its about sadness and death but its more than this. Take a band like Rascal Flats and see how they construct something that is unique, the melody the story behind the music which draws you in. Another at random is the Brothers Osbourne that won awards for their album "Porn Shop" , its a story that you follow through from beginning to end. Its smokin weed on a big scale, cars and girls and of course love..... The elements of the music that have made it what is. listen to whole albums and the sperate parts come together as one. You make not like this genre but give it a listen and you'll be surprised......

That's the track that I skip..just doesn't work on the album for me.

Shadow Relief
Joy
Dark Ocillations

top 3 atm

I get no Radiohead vibes but there is some Clannad and definitely some Low
