Re: Burnley pre match chat
There has been a clamour for benching Brendan Aaronson and using Willie Gnonto instead. It is not something I disagree with. However, when that has happened, like in the FA Cup semi, Gnonto has been as anonymous as Aaronson was ineffective. All this benchwarming has not helped WG in terms of his sharpness and fitness so I don't know if he is the answer.
All I have seen is that Aaronson has been slowly returning to his previous habit of putting in a shift every game but also running up blind alleys, falling over, playing sideways, losing the ball, missing goalscoring chances and playing short backward passes. For all that he is a Daniel Farke favourite so that is that!

Mr Crusoe did too - although due to the madness caused through solitude he thought it was another person.

After the disappointment of the Chelsea game I hope the players are up for this one. Like most I usually go for DCL to get the first goal but I never get it right, he is close but no cigar. Home game against a relegated side will show us all what we are made of. DF needs to get this one right, the same as the Forest game will do nicely.

Maybe we should all pick someone else for first goalscorer and take the pressure off him as it’s obvious he follows this comp every week.Musicman1965 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 28, 2026 5:11 pm After the disappointment of the Chelsea game I hope the players are up for this one. Had a bit of change in the Chelsea game and went for Bijol, he then proceeded to play one of the his worst games
in a Leeds shirt.....Hope I haven't jinxed Justin, he is usually pretty solid in all departments and has a habit of being in the right place at the right time... Justin is my choice, hope I haven't ended his career

Farke here
We have put FA Cup behind us. Since Monday it's behind us. You have to be fully committed for the cup, which we were. We didn;t see it as additional load. This brought us to the semi-final. Of course we are disappointed. We didn't have our best day. But doesn't take anything away we have made our supporters proud. We are still on a good path for PL survival.
Gudmundsson
Hamstring. Bit serious,. Will miss Friday and probably the Tottenham game. Try to bring him back as soon as possible. Hope he can feature in the last two days.
Other team news
Okafor got a little hit in the calf. Bijol some problems with hip flexor.
Burnley
Never seen a Burnley that has given up. Sometimes, once relegation is confirmed it gives you more freedom. Very difficult to say this game will be easier becasue they are relegated. Perhaps a bit more complicated. Scott's handwriting is he always puts a team out that is competitive. We are highly motivated.
Desire to get survival secured
We were fantastic in the last PL games. We want to keep going in this year. 12 more pts to fight for. We will fight for each and every point, they all count. Earlier we win pts the better our situation will be.
Planning ahead
Always better you plan the better. But I think one or two weeks doesn't matter because of the World Cup. Would be nice to relax to plan as early as possible. But most important thing is that it happens at all
Other results
Yes we don't hide it or else you would be scared. Players are allowed to look at other results. You have to deal with it very relaxed. But it makes no difference because you can't influence any other result. Our sotuation is quite comfortable. We can decide our own fate.
Stach involvement
We will see. We have two more days. Also good to have Joe Rodon back.
Aaronson reacting to chance
Important to be honest. Could ahve gone harder but extraordinary save too. And against Anton chance. Pleased he ran in behind. Missed bigger chances in recent weeks. Then don't have top dwell on it.Just important he has an upturn in form.
Calvert-Lewin not scoring from open play for a while
He is invited to score more goals! Played important role. Has also missed chances. Can bring himself into good situations and keep working. Important for us.

Just saw this on Sky Sports.
That's very strange. I would have thought he would see the season out at least.

Re: Burnley pre match chat
Two very different scenarios, Tyzy
Chelsea have top class players who were underperforming.
Burnley are Burnley, basically a championship outfit heading back to a league they will probably stroll next season.
