Three questions
WTF are Sky doing ?
WTF is Okafor talking to her for ?
Did anyone on the Leeds team know this was going to happen ?
This stih needs to be knocked on the head now.

Apart from his two calamities in our last two games, Pascal has has a fantastic season, one of our top players.DDB220 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 9:19 am It is clear that is set up he thrives in. But would he be a catastrophe in a back 4 ?. Purely speculation without actually having anny evidence other than one or two games, which for some is all they need to make a decision.
Good centre backs in a back 4 four create partnerships and it takes time. Struijk was often maligned for years on this forum. Indeed he was deemed as a better left back by some - I have a long memory.
He has become a top CB and clubs will be making enquiries about him this summer without a doubt.

To be honest, we haven't too much dead wood in our squad, what is remaining will be moved on where possible in the summer.

Not sure if that question was posed to me (quoted my post) but I’d say DF has out performed both those managers.

I did say we would acquire at least 45 points.CUSSIE01 wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 10:08 am Being able to relax with 3 games to go is going to take some getting used to, usually at this stage of the season I have no fingernails, behind the sofa is spotless, I’ve had to buy 3 new tv’s and the wife & dog have moved out, maybe I won’t tell the wife & dog we’re safe![]()
We might make the 50 points mark, our current form suggests its a possibility.

I'm looking forward to our summer recruitment.GreennWhite wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 10:29 am 100%. Myself and others said this earlier in the season. We have lapses during games partly due to the oposition having a good spell ( which some fans prefer to call Leeds being sh**e ) and our lack of quality in being able to manage the game well enough. Not being able to manage things well enough at certain times is down in part to the manager and the players. Thats not a dig at them, its just how it is with this squad at the moment.
Next season with better players added to the squad we hopefully should see us manage games better and not drop silly points like we have done this season.
I'm sick of seeing opposition clubs bringing on £30m to £100m players off their bench.

As Faaip hinted, maybe Pascal is feeling a bit of late season fatigue, his errors of late used to be in his game, which he seemed to eradicated this season.
Hopefully, Struijk doesn't allow these mistakes to get to him, Pascal is a cool, calm character, maybe he'll feel more relaxed after a ten day break.

The broadcaster did this pitchside interview during the match and inset the pictures into the match coverage. A stupid and very unnecessary idea in my opinion. hope it does not catch on.

It was a general question to those who are unhappy with Farke.Aussieleeds wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 12:00 pm Not sure if that question was posed to me (quoted my post) but I’d say DF has out performed both those managers.
Newcastle has built a Premier League squad with plenty of investment over the last eight seasons.
Marathe/Farke have laid the foundations & are still building with a few more bricks in the wall.

Re: Leeds United vs Burnley Match Thread
We haven't and no need for wholesale changes. We likely need a new keeper and hopefully we can recoup most of what we paid for Perri. Would rather have Darlow as back-up than Perri if we get a new keeper.
Centrebacks - I think a lot depends on whether Struyjk stays. If he stays I still think we will bring one in as if we keep with 5 at the back we need more competition/cover. Bornauw isn't reliable cover due to his injuries
Rightbacks - no problem with either Bogle or JJ. Both pretty damn decent so no need to take a chunk out of our budget.
Leftbacks - happy with GG. A tricky situation here as we ideally need another left footed leftback but to get better than GG will cost a lot but if we are just getting a back-up then it is a hard sell to bring in someone decent but is willing to be back-up. Might be that we try to get a versatile player who can play left back and centreback.
Midfield - happy to keep all that we have there but feel we could also do with bringing in another of starter quality. As such may see Tanaka, Longstaff or Gruev leave (maybe 2 or all 3).
Wingers/10s - tricky as to what formation we play. Would like to see a no.10 type but that may be instead of signing a midfielder if we go with 2 up front.
Attack - I think our interest in Strand-Larsen shows we want to get a top class striker. Think this is sensible as it then takes the pressure of DCL. Will we keep with 2 up front in which case it would be the new striker, DCL, Okafor and Nmecha competing. Likely Piroe is sold and wouldn't be surprised if Nmecha looks to leave in search of a regular start.
I think we are in a far healthier position than after Bielsa's first season as the squad has depth. The Bielsa squad basically just had Dallas to cover everywhere. So for me a keeper is likely priority. Darlow has done great and it is very re-assuring to know that he will be there if needed (assuming he signs for another year or two. After the keeper likely a striker is next priority, followed by a no.10 type and maybe then a versatile centreback.

It also shows that a bad run of form doesn't make a good manager a bad manager. Very easy for a team to have a bad year after some good ones. Can just be the difference between a striker being off form rather than taking a high percentage of chances. Salah carried Liverpool at times last season, Isak's goal have been a huge difference for Newcastle this season and Chris Wood showing how different Forest are with him playing for them.1964white wrote: ↑Sat May 02, 2026 12:27 pm It was a general question to those who are unhappy with Farke.

Re: Leeds United vs Burnley Match Thread
I hope we don't go down the route of over spending on a few players Leon, cos we're not able to sustain that level of risk, and I just think it's a very short sighted strategy.
As I said in the discussion on DCL, it's completely unnecessary to spend a fortune on players, and I consider it to be an absolute myth that you are forced to pay astronomical fees for top quality players.
Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford, whose fanbase put together is a fraction of ours, have managed to survive and progress at this level, when on paper that would seem to be impossible. If the 49ers, and these investors, are the shrewd business people that we're hoping them to be then they could do worse than follow the business model of the 3 Bs.
These clubs are known for investing comparatively small amounts on transfer fees for talented young players, developing them, getting great match winning performances out of them, and then flogging them on to the Greedy 6 and co for a fortune.
Brentford = 105.6 million gbp profit from 4 players
Ivan Toney cost 5.5 million gbp and sold for 40 million gbp to Al Ahli
Christian Norgard cost 2.8 million gbp sold for 10 million gbp to Arsenal
Yoane Wissa cost 50 million gbp and sold for 55 million gbp to Newcastle
Bryan Mbuemo cost 5.4 million gbp and sold for 65 million gbp to ManU
Brighton = 243.45 million gbp profit from 6 players
Moises Caicedo cost 4 million gbp and sold for 115 million gbp to Chelsea
Robert Sanchez signed as a 15 year old kid, so minimal fee involved, and sold for 23 million Euros to Chelsea
Leandro Trossard cost 15 million gbp and sold for 24 million Euros to Arsenal
Ben White signed as an 18 year old for a minimal fee and sold for 50 million gbp to Arsenal
Marc Cucurella cost 18 million Euros and sold for 62 million gbp to Chelsea
Joao Pedro cost 3.1 million gbp and sold for 60 million gbp to Chelsea
Bournemouth = 143.1 million gbp profit from 6 player sales
Illia Zabarnyi cost 22.7 million Euros and sold for 57.1 million gbp to PSG
Nathan Ake cost 20 million gbp and sold for 40 million gbp to Man City
Dean Huijsen cost 15.2 million Euros and sold for 50 million gbp to Real Madrid
Milos Kerkez cost 15.5 million gbp and sold for 40 million gbp to Liverpool
Dominic Solanke cost 19 million gbp and sold for 65 million gbp to Spurs
Antoine Semenyo cost 10 million gbp and sold for 63.6 million gbp to Man City

Re: Leeds United vs Burnley Match Thread
Prior to the Cup semi SG, we were all remembering that s**t show of a League Cup Final against Villa, where only Andy Gray turned up to play and hoping that didn't happen again.
That meek set up and performance in that first half against Chelsea was pathetic and embarrassing. Fair enough Farke changed things at HT, as he did after watching Cole Palmer piss all over us at Stamford Bridge, and things picked up in the second half.
But, I don't take abject performances like that lightly and don't forgive them easily either.
I watched Chelsea at BHA a few days before the semi and that was one of the worst performances I've ever seen from an EPL team, but we rocked up with knees knocking and made them look like Johan Cruyff and Hollands 1974 World Cup side.
I'm really pleased with the win last night, but these guys and Farke still have a lot to do to convince me they will progress the club at this level. Chelsea was a 100% wasted opportunity to make a statement and give us a chance of some silverware.

Re: Leeds United vs Burnley Match Thread
I think we will probably embark on a similiar strategy of last close seasonc taking small incremental steps in developing the playing squad. There's been the odd flirtation on going out trying to get an expensive recruit like Strand Larsen or Muiniz but the cynical part of me thinks this was all smoke and mirrors and that kind of player was never going to land at LUFC this season.
Gudmunssson, Bijol, Stach, Justin and Okafor were relatively modest money recruits this season and then there is DCL. All of these players have given a good return on the investment. So perhaps more of the same again but perhaps there might be in inclination to spend more per player - say £30m or so - but I am doubtful we'd be looking at £40m plus players TBH
