Thanks Kev, I hope she enjoys it. If she doesn’t … she’ll get reimbursed. Cussie is my agent and he sorts out the admin.

Forbidden Health - Incurable Was Yesterday = Andreas Ludwig Kalcker
A really fascinating manual of collated research that offers insight into how you can improve your health and cure all types of diseases, sickness and ailments.
If you have an open mind then this is a must read, but if you're already mentally conditioned to accept whatever the WHO, health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry want you to believe then this wouldn't be for you

The Bible: CSB version (easier reading). My 'go to' is the KJV (original 1611 King James Version). First time I read it all the way through in a year. I listen to the new Testament front-back 4-6 times a year (KJV audio Bible).
Other book I am reading: It's So Easy (And Other Lies) by Duff McKagan (I love biographical books).
Next up: Twisting My Melon by Shaun Ryder (can hardly wait to I read this)...

Re: What are you reading
Just read Lee Sharpe's autobiography "My Kind of Fun". It is really good, much more candid than most football biographies.
It describes the period just before the Premier League came in, when heavy all day and night boozing sessions were the norm for building squad morale. Surprisingly, captain Bryan Robson was the biggest drinker at Man U, and after that Roy Keane.
Alex Ferguson comes across as a bad tempered bully.
The book also covers Lee's time at Leeds. He was signed by Wilko, but then ultra-defensive George Graham took over, he did his cruciate and it was all downhill from there.
At the time of writing, 2005, Lee was still living in Leeds and had just lost a lot of money opening a new pub!

Re: What are you reading
Am trying to get a book published but have had no joy yet from literary agents. As such am toying with going down the self publishing route. If anyone is interesting in having a read and giving feedback it would be very helpful.
The book, I would say, is a bit Dan Brown-esque using actual past events to fit into a narrative.
When Katy buys a second-hand watch from an antique shop it sends her, and a mysterious companion, travelling through time in a potentially deadly adventure where she encounters legendary and mythical people, sees powerful civilisations and witness past events as they unfold to create or change history as to how we think we know it today.
Katy’s travels see her witnessing historical events and seeing what may have really happened rather than what the history books would have us believe. She encounters Jesus Christ, Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Nostradamus, Rumpelstiltskin, Mileva Maric (his wife that history seemingly forgot), the Mad Monk Rasputin, King Arthur, Baal, Thoth, Saint Patrick, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, Snow White, Dracula and many other legendary or presumed mythical people. She gets to see King Richard III die in battle, the Last Supper, the Pendle Witch Trials and the destruction of Atlantis. She comes face to face with the mighty Minotaur and is there at the end of the world, in just a few short years from now – don’t worry though it hasn’t happened yet, or has it?
The seemingly random cast of characters that she meets will all become linked in the true mystery. Discover why Katy was chosen to go on this remarkable and dangerous journey, who she really is and why her mysterious companion is travelling with her.
When the leaps through time start to make her age quickly, the watch that she is wearing becomes a ticking time bomb.
She needs to make it back to her own time, and back to the only life that she had known though that life will be changed forever.
If anyone is interested let me know and I can email you a copy, unfortunately only on word.

Re: What are you reading
Prelude:
The ground that they were standing on gave way. They were no longer on solid ground, but were sinking deep into the water as the island of Atlantis submerged into the sea.
“Swim Katy,” Klaus shouted. “We must keep ourselves afloat.”
Katy was terrified. She was not a strong swimmer and was struggling against the churning water. Towering waves surged around them.
A gigantic tsunami picked up Noah’s Ark and lifted it over one hundred feet into a sky, blackened with smoke and floating ash, before sending it crashing back down into the sea. Astonishingly, it remained upright and seemingly unharmed.
Katy stared in horror as another massive wave surged towards them.
She closed her eyes. Less than a day ago, her world had been so different.

Just read Gazzas book.
Nothing I didn't really know beforehand.
If Gazzas was born 30 years later he would be described as having a whole host of isms.
As it was in his day all put down to bad behaviour.
Which is probably true to a point.

Re: What are you reading
I have self published on kindle e-books, the problem is the books are instantly buried underneath the so-called celebrity tosh and publisher ‘names’. Even searching my book name and author name doesn’t always bring my title forward.weasel wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2026 2:51 pm Am trying to get a book published but have had no joy yet from literary agents. I never tried the physical book route. A) because it’s expensive, and B) I don’t have the energy to tout it around sellers.
I’ve made a decision that whatever I write is for the pleasure of writing. That said, defeat won’t stop me from putting my other titles on kindle.

‘The Man From Beijing’ - Henning Mankell. First one I’ve read of his that doesn’t involve Detective Kurt Wallander.

Half way through Alan Bennett's Untold Stories. Always liked Alan's TV plays and now I'm loving reading about his own life and upbringing in the Armley area and his family. He'll be 92 tomorrow.

Re reading Adrian McKinty’s Sean Duffy series of books. A brilliant, funny, honest look at the life of a catholic detective in Northern Ireland during the troubles.Highly recommended.
