Expected Japan to at it from the start.
A couple of good moves in the last few minutes has brightened it a bit.
I've enjoyed it. Two similar quality teams, with QF prosppects. So it's going to be cagier..

Not been impressed with the Dutch either.
Don’t mind certain cagey games if the football is better.

Just to add a bit to this. Both the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and the State Farm Stadium here in my home town of Phoenix are GREAT soccer venues. Both have retractible natural grass pitches that roll in and out of the stadium. The problem for both locations is that they are in the desert. It's 107 F or 42 C in both cities today. Which isn't a problem INSIDE the temperature controlled venues. But for fans trying to get out and about it's a dangerous nightmare.

BlackHillsPaul wrote: ↑Sun Jun 14, 2026 7:03 pm The crowd in Houston for Germany v Curacao appears to be another sell out. I have no doubt that this World Cup will set a new all time attendance record. The old record was set during USA 1994. And it still stands. Of course this time there are more games. But the stadiums being used in this WC are also larger than many venues used in 1994. Even apples for apples this WC attendance will be higher.

My point? The British public are being lied to about this World Cup by your own media. The petty, jealous, pieces of canine excrement that they are. Unless they change their tune, don't believe them!! And just in case you think I'm picking on British media, there are some in the USA that are trying to put a negative spin on it too. I'm looking at you ESPN.
Paul, you are spot on. The British media are looking for any negative to slate this World Cup, you only have to go on the BBC website over the last couple of weeks to see all the negativity , but I will say it's more aimed at Fifa than any of the hosts , basically down to Fifa money grabbing at every opportunity , ticket prices, travel, water bottles the list goes on, referees/visas the lot, it's Fifa painting themselves in a bad light with that clown over them, but nobody can argue that America is not a great host, they put on a brilliant World Cup in 94 and no doubt this one will be a success also along with the co-hosts Mexico and Canada, nobody wanted a World Cup in Qatar or Russia but that was corruption at it's best but both nations put on a good show but all this negativity this time is 100% against Fifa

Alejandro "Alex" Zendejas

Plays his football at Club America in LigaMX. America is the biggest club in this Hemisphere. Bigger than any of the South American clubs. And it's located in Mexico City.

Don't like this dutch strip in high def, spent a lot of the game trying to get the picture right. They're just pink blobs from a distance, White shorts might have helped

Not surprised he's started though, was their best player in the warm up games apparently.

Should be a good game, Japan are decent.
There was a comment on here a couple of weeks ago that we get an extra payment from W Ham if Summerville plays ….. or was that a wind up

It's 88 F or 31 C in Dallas, TX today. Hot and sticky yes, but not dangerous for foreigners that have no idea how to handle 107 f. 8-)
