Hopefully there fixture with Donny won't clash with a Leeds game, in which case I might have a walk down to the Eco what's it stadium to watch them.

Do sponsorship deals count toward PCR? Thinking about possible billionaire loopholes here. The Subhuman wrote: ↑Sat Jun 13, 2026 1:14 pm Good for the EFL, makes no difference in the EPL... rich owners won't help now. Almost certainly, and yes loopholes might be exploited, aren't they always?Carrick Dave wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 9:25 am Do sponsorship deals count toward PCR? Thinking about possible billionaire loopholes here.

West Ham fans have exciting times ahead of them in the Championship.
Shame the 50.000 fans are supporting their team in a tinpot stadium which lacks atmosphere.

It is though the fans who make the atmoshpere. When they had their revival the atmosphere 'surprisingly' was a lot better. For me the stadium was just an excuse for fans not creating an atmosphere. I was a Maradona documentary the other day and Napoli's pitch was in no way condusive to creating an atmosphere, running track round the pitch etc - but boy was there an atmosphere and a hostile crowd for away players.
With Leeds in the Bates era the atmosphere at Leeds was pretty toxic at times, more helpful tot he away team etc, booing of the players. But it wasn't the stadium that changed (okay the East Stand Upper was shut but that is not where the atmosphere is created). It was our fans making our stadium hard for our players to play in - the general apathy and hostility towards Bates, the general displeasure with the team, the way everything was being run.
So yes the stadium may not have been designed specifically for football but if that stadium had been plonked down at ER last season I'm sure our fans would have made it a fortress and got behind the team.
Next season I expect miraculously the atmosphere will be better there as they will be winning more games.

Yep. You see it in Europe as well with sides like Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Hertha Berlin, Dinamo Zagreb, Red Star Belgrade etc who can still create an atmosphere in an Olympic stadium..weasel wrote: ↑Sun Jul 19, 2026 2:35 pm It is though the fans who make the atmoshpere. Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but did you see the Hansa Rostock fans against Watford yesterday? 7000 of them all bouncing up and down at the same time, all dressed in white tops. It was very impressive.

Might need the most bitter one of these I've seen
Funny though.
Not sure trying to make the 4 time European Champions seem like a downgrade works though
