Bielsa not backed.

Sold Raphinia & Phillips

Marsch employed

All down to the snake in the grass imo!
Per Phil Hay the 49ers wanted to keep Orta on and kept Kinnear.

They don't do that if they don't think they did a good job.

I think you have to look through the corporate spin (done a good job since).

But a VC fund doesn't sit meekly in the background whilst it let's someone else control its investors money.

They have a say in every major decision including sales (on the KP doc Marathe was in the room talking to Radz and Kinnear about selling him).

I would keep Perri though, it seems a waste to sell at a loss then spend another 15-20 who could easily be as inconsistant. There's a good GK there and he was top class in the cups for the most part. When he faces a penalty he looks scarily huge in the goalmouth, pen takers must wonder if they'll score

As Ellandback pointed out, this represents, at least in part, a new attitude on the part of players toward the club. The signing of a player of Wilson's caliber demonstrates players (or at least player) no longer view Leeds as a club that represent a significant career risk. This could turn onto a self-reinforcing virtuous cycle. As more players see Leeds as a safe bet for career advancement Leeds will perform better, and as Leeds perform better, better players will want to come.
What calibre is Wilson? I'm not sure he's come because he want to further his career but for a final pay day. He might have doubled his salary plus. We await the actual numbers. But he turned down a Champions League team who offered good money

What odds on a relegation release of some kind?

Love the signing of Wilson for many reasons, obviously hes a quality player, who can happily hold a number of positions in the team, and in each he'll bring goals or assists. He comes on a free, which leaves us money to spend on others positions, but lastly and some may say more importantly I and a few friends went to watch a preseason friendly 2019 (Bradford v Liverpool) at a time we were been heavily linked with Ryan Kent, who played that day, we all left the game saying yea Kents OK but that young Harry Wilson bossed the game as the No10, we should buy him and here we are not 7 years later getting him in through the door, coincidence I don't think so 🤣

I'd love for us to get Shea over the line as i think hes a great young player who hasn't reached his peaked, Graham Smith (Athletic, YEP) loves him but also is highly recommending his brother who is a young keeper, thats fantastic with the ball at his feet, now that would be move to get both.
Definitely not a coincidence

Leeds did look at him, but not as a starter.

The problem Leeds may have this summer is finding better players willing to join without breaking the bank; it's been a constant rebuttal from the club in recent seasons. It makes the Harry Wilson signing even more sweet, as not only is he a step up from what we have, but he was a freebie too.

I wouldn't say it's a "coup". It's a bit similar to the DCL signing imo, he might be good for one season, but it's not a good long term solution, despite the long contract. Both will be 30 next year and you'd be looking to replace them before they regress, but the high wages make that difficult.

What we need is another Raphinha type signing 😍 Whoever that may be.

Hopefully we keep Harry Gray and see how he does in pre season.

Can always loan him out last minute as the transfer window is closing.

How do you know all this behind closed doors information?

It's not behind closed doors.

Was in the documentary Marathe involved in transfer meetings with Orta, Radz and Kinnear.

49ers have done the corporate thing and distanced themselves as much as they can.

Marathe stopped the appointment of that Dutch bloke, the 49ers funded Rutter.

They weren't powerless innocent bystanders.

Just from a business pov it's illogical for that to be the case ? Hand Radz their investors cash and have no clue what was happening.

Paraag has already went on record saying that they stayed in the background until Radz sold out his share.
